Text from HMPO

Hi,
Am I supposed to expect a text from HMPO to confirm their receipt of my first passport application? I applied via post office check and send service.

If you've provided your phone number then yes. They do send texts and emails at every step of your application.

Do you know how long it takes to message after you post it?

It's very quick. Like next day.

It's normal. You can also track your application online.

During peak periods, there can sometimes be delay before documents are opened and acknowledged by HMPO. So not having received the text message yet is normal, even if it's not pleasant.
