Arrived into UK 3 months after start of ancestry visa

Post by Tinker83 » Sat May 18, 2019 4:45 pm

Hi,

I'm preparing to apply for ILR, I have a query regarding the date I arrived into the UK. My ancestry Visa started on the 28th of September 2015 but I traveled Europe for 3 months and didn't enter the UK till the 26th of December 2015.

Do I treat the 28th of September as my end date for applying for the IRL? Do I include the 3 months travel in my total days out of the UK for the 5 year period?

How much has this been costing people to apply? I will do the slow application, do I still go in for an interview if I do the slow application?

Thanks

It is visa issue date that is relevant and the delayed entry will count towards the 180 days per 12 months absence limit

Thank you for confirming, this is what I thought would be the outcome.

The biometrics is taken at the interview? What happens if you don't get an interview before the visa.expires? I have read it can be difficult getting an interview.

How early can I start the application online? I'm assuming it can be saved and I can continue to come back to it.

Will it be £3000 for the slow route? I'm happy to wait and not have same day decision.

There is no interview.

You simply attend sopra steria, a third party agent, to enroll biometrics and documents check. They are not HO staff.

Date of application is date your submit and pay online. The date of ukcvas appointment is irrelevant.

You can save as you go and come back to form at any time.

£2389 for standard service plus the ukcvas fee. £3000 odd is for 24 hour super priority service.

Great thanks! Do I have to ahve a specific amount saved if applying with ancestry? The payment for the ILR will wipe out most my savings.

Perfect thanks. I passed my life in the UK test, found it very easy. I have a bit of an odd issue now. I need to find a new place to live in with my partner, but if my visa is ending in September I feel I'll have a difficult time getting accepted by the real estate agent if they see my 5 year is ending soon.

Any experience on this?

Thanks

Thanks for the response.

Is it possible to spread the £3k payment over multiple cards/ accounts when paying online?

Unfortunately not. You get one option to pay online.

Thanks for the information.

I have started the online application and have got to the section about the amount of times I have left the UK over the 5 years. I travelled Europe for 3 months before I arrived to the UK. This was during the first three months of my ancestry visa. Will I need to document every country I visited in this three months or can I just write Europe for three months? When doing the online application do I need to upload copies of the paper work or is this all dealt with at the interview?

Thanks

You need to list your travel, ie departure from the UK and arrival in back and what country you visited.

No proof of travel paperwork required other than your passport.

There is no 'interview' for ILR.

But I did not enter the UK for 89 days after my ancestry visa started. How do I list this time? It doesn't give you that option when listing.

Also, I'm, Australian and have spoken English my entire life. I passed the life in UK test but the online application is saying I need to provide my degree. I have a scan of this but the actual hard copy.is still.in australia. Will.i need to take the hardcopy original with me to the biometrics?

Thanks.

Also, it is saying I need to provide a NARIC letter that confirms my Australian degree meets or exceeds recognised standard of a bachelor's. This is £125 and in my mind a money grab. Do I really need this letter for an Australian degree English is my only language?

Australian citizens are exempt from English language requirement. You do not need to send your degree or get a NARIC. That is a glitch in the online system. Unfortunately I have to answer similar queries almost every day here due to online list being inaccurate :?

Tick NO to the degree question. It is ONLY relevant to meeting the English requirement. Ho don't care about your qualifications for any other purpose.

No to the degree question as then it won't ask you for NARIC at all.

What about the 89 days traveling through Europe after the ancestry visa started. I have ravelled for 89 days before I first landed in the UK. Does this need to be documented, if so, there is no way of registering this information on the online forms.

Thanks
