I am a non-EEA spouse of an Italian. He applied for and received settled status within 2 weeks of his application. I do not have anresidence permit or BRC as I've entered the UK with the EEA treaty stamp at the airport. I've been living with my husband in the UK since August 2018 and applied for pre-settled status.

Submitted my application: May 24th
Biometrics: May 29
COA: May 30
Decision: Still waiting

I sent an email to enquire about the progress of the application around June 3rd. They responded within 2 days that my biometrics have been received and verified & that my case was being considered. I called resolution centre yesterday (June 27) but pretty much got the same answer that was in my email. Hoping for a decision soon.

Just birth certificate to prove relationships
Student loan letters to show living together
Gp letter to show appointments with address on it
Utility bills in dads name since cane to uk
His passports and PR card
And then linked his application to mine using his reference number .

That’s all

Hi Jamiemi,

Not heard anything back since the biometric appointment. They responded to my MP to say there was some confusion around BRP vs BRC and that is what was caused the 'slight' delay in my application and they said a letter had been sent to me to go and enrol my biometrics( the letter was on the 14th of June). Now in month number 4 and still waiting

I'm non-EU wife of Italian husband. He has applied for the settled status today and received COA.
Before I apply for myself and link my application to his, I would like to know for how long they will keep my residence card (to be sent by post to verify my identity) before returning it to me?
Will they scan it and send back regardless of when a decision will be made?
Or will they keep it until the very end of the application?

Thanks

Depending on the individual circumstances, you probably only need to scan it through the EU APP ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/using-the-e ... -check-app ). But if you have to send it in, which i doubt then they send it back with 4 working days, not until the application is decided.

Thanks for the heads up. I can now see in https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-ci ... d-to-apply where it says:
Scan your document
You can only use the ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ app for Android to scan your document if you have one of the following:

valid EU, EEA or Swiss passport or ID card, if its biometric
UK-issued biometric residence card
And I do have the biometric residence card.

Thanks again!

Hello everyone,

I’m posting this as when I was waiting for my application outcome, I found this forum very helpful. So my timeline is application submitted online 10/5/2019, ID documents received on the 12/5/2019. Made quite a few calls to the resolution centre, was told all fine until week 5 when someone spotted a mistake on my application. So all those 5 weeks, they said was fine and nothing to worry about. Called during the sixth week, someone helpful saw there was no movement on my application for 5 weeks escalated it and received COA on the 20/6. Was told by caseworker who called to inform me that it would be pre settled only as system glitch put me as settled so would receive results within one week but actually just received pre settled status today 1/7.

I thought one is allowed to keep passport when applying for EU Settlement Scheme.

Did they tell you why they wanted you to post it to them?

It says on the website, depending on individual cases especially with non EEA
> you will be either asked to send your Passport in for identity verification but returned within 4 working days ( excluding the time it takes from it to get to them)
> you will be required to book a biometrics appointment or scan your current brc using the '' eu exit app''

So essentially its standard procedure.. But waiting time for non eea tends to take longer from what i've read on this platform, average of 6 weeks, some people received their decision 3 months after applying.
Hope that little info is useful

Hello, here is my bit in case it helps anyone.

I am the non-EU unmarried partner of an EU national with settled status. I applied for Pre-Settled.

Applied online: 25 June
Biometrics: 30 June (Croydon)
CoA: 2 July at 10:15 am
Decision Letter: 2 July at 12:04

For the online application I submitted a power bill since it only asked me to show residence for a single day in the past 6 months. For the relationship evidence I only submitted my EEA Family Permit (which I just got on June 1st) stamped by the immigration officer at Gatwick. This was all scanned files, did not send my passport anywhere.

I was surprised to get a decision almost immediately after the CoA, in fact I found the whole process super quick, from what I had been reading on this forum I thought I had a couple of weeks to wait and was even sure they would reply asking for more documentation. Now just waiting for the card to arrive, good luck to everyone.

Received an email today saying that I have been granted pre-settled status - 3 months after application! Further information regarding BRC and official letter is on the way.
Timeline (Tier 2 visa, married to EU citizen for 1 year)
Applied online on the 6th of April (made a mistake with using my Tier 2 BRP)
Got asked to send in my documents by post (they received it on 9th of April)
Multiple calls and emails to EU settlement scheme enquiring about the delay (the delay was due to me submitting my Tier 2 BRP) + a letter from my MP at the end of June
Biometrics appointment invitation by mail (20th of June)
COA - never received one - no idea why..?
3rd of july - sent them another email through their online enquiry form asking for an update
Today (4th of July) - received a reply to that enquiry, where it said that I've been granted pre-settled status and a letter confirming it along with information on BRC is on the way.

Non eu spouse, not holding any BRC, no EEA Family permit.

Applied: 15 APRIL 2019
Biometrics appointment: 17 APRIL 2019 (Croydon)
Decision: Pre-settled status 04 JUL 2019 @ 02:00 PM
Waiting : BRP CARD

All the process took almost 3 months for me. I had never called Home office until 2 or 3 weeks ago and they told me they would speed the case up since I'd been waiting for so long and my application seemed correct. Nothing happened, so I called again 3 days ago, and they told me same thing, they would speed my case, and if I didn't get any news in two weeks I should call again. But today I got the e-mail! Now waiting for the BRP card.
Do you know if I need to get NIN, or with this new online system is enough for work?

Thanks! Good luck
