Hello everyone. I have been following this page and am so happy to be here. I applied for derivative residence card in 2012, I got refused but I appealed and won the court case but the HO re-appealed against the decision again and didn't hear from them for sometime so my lawyer decided to apply for the 2.5 10years route in 2015 which was granted to me. Later I got a letter in 2016 asking me to post my passport for my derivative residence card which was stamped on my passport. My lawyer called me 3 weeks ago that i can now apply for ILR with my derivative residence card. Am thinking of doing it myself instead of paying a lawyer to help me. Topsibelle you mentioned that you added some supporting letters with your application, can you please clarify where you got the letters from. Is it from the GP or were. I know you mentioned letter from school which I know. Thanks in advance.

I requested for the form on the 23rd May.
I applied for the settled status so required to evidence my 5 years.
I sent my daughter's British passport.
Her birth certificate linking me as her parent.
5 years of her school reports as well as letters showing she's dependent on me. This also shows 5 years of residence. She's 16 now so report from year 7-year 11.
P60/ P45 as this shows yearly evidence as against credit card or utility statements.
I sent my M.Sc certificate as l completed 2 years degree as a social worker.
It's very important to evidence each year.
All the best.
Hi Topsibelle please where did you get letters showing that she is dependent on you. Thanks

I didn't get no letter showing she's dependent on me. The birth certificate already shows I'm her mother. As she's not in care, she is solely dependent on me for everything.

oh okay.. those with derivative residence cards are going well unlike we with 2.5 yrs leave to remain. its very rare seeing people with 2.5yrs leave to remain with success story.
we are still hoping for the best.

My timeline
Posted 1/9/2019
HO Received 2/2019
COA received 12/09/2019

I just received a call from HO a caseworker advising me that me and my partner only qualifies for pre-settle since we became a British citizen child carer from March 2018 ( Which I agreed). He told me a we can reapply for settled status in March 2023 God willing. I didn't argue so I told him to deal with quickly for us since we need our passports for other things.
NB: we have a Derivative residence card since July 2018.
Fingers crossed we will hear from them soon.

Hi This is my first time to post in this forum.
Please I will need help from those have got a similar case to mine

1-Came in the UK in 2009 with Tier 4 visa valid from Sept-2009 Jan-2014
2- Had a British child in 2011 and obtained her British passport in 2014
3-Obtained a Tier 2 General visa valid from Sept-2016- Sept-2016
4- Hold a Derivative residence card (Zambrano case) as a primary carer of British child since 31 Dec 2014 which will expire on 31st Dec 2019

I will like to apply for the EU settlement scheme because I hold the Derivative residence card for almost 5 years now.
I called the EU settlement resolution centre and spoke to two different persons
The first person told me that I wasn't eligible to apply for the EU settlement scheme and gave me a different number to call. When I called the number they ask me the recall the EU resolution centre.
I called the EU settlement resolution centre for the second time and was able to speak with another person who told me that I can apply but that he can't advise whether I am eligible EU settlement scheme or not.
I never apply for 2.5 years parents route will I need to apply for it first?

Please I need advise from those holding a Derivative residence card (zambrano carer) who applied for the EU settlement scheme recently.
Thanks for your lovely attention

No don't go down the 2.5 ILR route. You are eligible for EU settlement scheme. I had ZAMBRANO and got settled status.

Call them and ask for the form, and say you have current Zambrano DRF.
