EU Settlement scheme- Non EU

Post by lotrrulz9 » Thu Jul 04, 2019 8:29 am

Hi all, my husband has recently moved to the UK and is on the Settlement Scheme (he is from the EU). I am Australian and going to join him, I am wondering if I can apply once I’m in the UK or should I apply in Australia? I have read different things online so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot.

You can apply EU Pre settled status from the UK. If you would to travel under EU route to the UK then you can apply EU family permit EU settlement

I got permanent residence card ( PRC) under EU laws by using my retained rights in 2009, valid for 10 years.
Never applied for a British passport. I lost my passport carrying permanent residence card sticker . Somebody broke in my car and took everything away , including my passport. Hot police report. Never applied for a BRC.
Now, my solicitor has applied for a Biometric residence card for me under the said scheme.
I got permanent residence but dont have a Biometric residence card so, I cant travel.

Now , my question to everybody is that. Did I apply through the best route ? My application went through online and booked an appointment for biometrics in few days.

Was I suppose to apply using form EEA ( PR )? , which is of 85 pages and very scary.

What will happen now? Will I be considered under the EU settlement scheme as a Non EU person ?

Please reply as I am a new member on this forum.

Many thanks

Hello, I’m in a similar situation, however, my PR is expiring in few months. I’m not sure whether to just apply through eu settlement scheme or using EEA (PR) form.

Kindly, provide an update of your situation.
Like how many days it took for any confirmation to arrive (assuming if you’ve already had your biometrics taken?
Also, which centre did you book your biometric appointment and how much did it cost.
Many thanks
