First British passport application

Post by Irfan1648 » Thu Jul 18, 2019 12:44 pm

I was wondering if anyone can help with this , we have received our invitation for British citizenship ceremony which will take place in 4 days

1)What documents are required for an adult first British passport ?
2) what documents are required for a child ?

Can anyone explain step by step with the passport application ?

Can we also send the supporting documents and non Uk passport in a same envelope ?

Your help in this matter will be much appreciated
Thanks In advance

Any reason why you cannot have a look at the passport guidance notes for this information???

You apply (online or paper) and submit with minimal supporting documents (originals). Then you wait!!
Can we also send the supporting documents and non Uk passport in a same envelope ?

You send everything for each application together.

It is not a complicated process. You are simply applying for a passport and send minimal documents as the guidance notes (which are not very long) state.

I am not legally qualified, all my answers are from personal experience or readings. Please seek legal advice and don’t take my opinion as one.

Many thanks , another question if any one can answer please

Me my Mrs and my son applied together in a family application Eu and family member of Eu citizens , we receive all of us invitation letter from home office and council , by reading on this forum I understand they send registration certificate straight at home not the council , my son is 3 year old , they mentioned on the home office letter if we don’t want his ceremony we can collect it from council, when asked council they said you can collect it after your ceremony!

Just a thought , any one experienced this before ??

Thanks

That's normal. You just need to pick it up. Your child can be present when the parents take their oath or affirmation, but won't be asked to do so.

Thanks all , your help is much appreciated, and the final question , when applying passport online and upload the photo online, do you still need a hard copy of photo to send with the supporting documents?

No, you don’t need to send a physical photo. If you take the photo at a professional studio like Jessops, ask them for the code for the photo to enter on the online application.
