FLRM self employed or savings

Post by ASEA331825 » Wed Jun 12, 2019 4:41 am

Hi,
I have confusion regarding my extension FLR m. Hoping to get some advice .
I am currently on flrm visa which expires in 4 months . My husband and 2 kids are British citizen ( one born recently).
My query is regarding financial requirement section. I have cash in my account from over 6 months ( by the time I apply about 1 yr) which was always above £20,000 ( can I use this as cash saving to qualify currently I have over £30,000) mostly from my income. I works as a dentist with the same company since 2016 and currently on maternity leave . I am self employed but we get paid by the company every month ( bank account and remittance slips show that) and get remittance slips ( which matches with NHS payments made to company ), every month payment varies (between 3-4 thousand) also hold permanent contract with them. As I am currently on maternity leave since March/April I am also getting maternity pay into my account( which is about the same as my pay) - all these incomes are in personal account plus the cash mentioned above.
I have all my tax returns since I started working to date with tax paid.
What would be the best method of declaring income or can I use it as cash saving ?
I Hope it’s clear enough, looking forward to get some advice as guidance notes are very confusing.
Thank you

Does you husband earn more than £18,600 pa? If the answer is yes - just use his income information - hopefully a simpler way forward.

If you are using your income you have to provide full end of year accounts and / or interim management accounts if you are self employed. The salary element is your net profit

Hi,
Thanks for replying. He is also self employed as a director . Is it still better to use his income ?

For self employment you will have to attach an extensive range of documents and in case of savings it should be at least £62500.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank you for your reply. £62500 I don’t have that much in my account. Does that mean I don’t qualify for cash saving . It’s a bit confusing on how it’s calculated ? what kind of documents are required for self employed?

Thank you for the reply. I did read it but was kind of confusing . I think showing self employment maybe the best way as I can provide all the documents for it .

Self employment documents FLRM

Post by ASEA331825 » Wed Aug 07, 2019 9:29 am

Good morning,
I have query regarding documents required for extension of FLR(M).
I am currently on maternity leave but work as a dentist since last 3 years ( self employed) for a company on behalf of NHS so my latest financial year the earrings are well over £18,000 ( plus getting maternity pay as well currently) . I get remittances slips monthly and the amount is paid in my account from the company.
My question is in This situation what documents should I submit ( 12 months self assessment only?)
And what other documents are required?
Also my Husband’s earning is around £20,000 and he is employed.
What if we submit both?
Looking for a suggestion on what would be best way forward?
Thank you.

FLR(M) English requirement

Post by ASEA331825 » Wed Aug 07, 2019 9:32 am

Hello everyone,
This may sound like a straightforward question but I wanted to confirm regarding English language requirement for extension of FLR(M).
I completed my masters in 2013 from Cardiff University in UK, do I still need to take English language test or can my degree be accepted for it.?
Thank you

You only need ONE spouses' earnings. If your husband meets the requirement, then use only his.

Have you read through Appendix 1.7 link already provided??

A UK Degree is sufficient.

Address proof query flr(m)_

Post by ASEA331825 » Tue Oct 01, 2019 9:53 am

Hi,
I am due to submit my extension for FLR(M). My query is regarding proof of co-habitation. It mentions that if we both don’t have joined name on any bills etc. We need to provide 6 documents proof each.
My question is, providing same bill e.g telephone or gas etc. Spread over last 2 years acceptable?
We both only have shared name on council tax and rest is individual named( utility bills).
Thanking in advance.

As long as you provide documents from at least 3 different sources, using the same source for bills addressed to each of you individually at the same address spread over the past couple years is not a problem. As you have already noted, any of the minimum of 6 pieces of correspondence addressed to you jointly can be replaced by 2 pieces of correspondence addressed to each of you individually.
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

FLR(M) Extension or new application

Post by ASEA331825 » Sat Oct 05, 2019 10:00 am

Hi,
I am currently filling my application for FLR(M) as an extension but I only realised that my last permit was SET(M) as at that time my husband had ILR. I am confused as in should I apply for FLR(M) extension or new application? Thank you in advance

Unclear what exactly you mean. SET(M) is the form you apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and not a visa or visa extension. Do you mean you previously applied on FLR(M) or SET(M) within the UK or VAF4A Settlement visa outside the UK?

What is your full UK immigration history?

Can you please also keep all your questions in one topic, now merged.

Previously we both had tier 1 visa and then my husband qualifies for 10 year route for ILR in May 2017, at that point I switched my visa to SET(M) for which I was provided 2.5 (expiring) years permit and on brp it says spouse/partner leave to remain.
In June 2018 my husband for granted citizenship but I stayed on this visa. Now that I am applying extension I am not sure if I should choose FLR(m) extension or new application ? It is very confusing for me as well. I hope this is clear. Thanks

You would have applied on FLR M if you got a 2.5 year visa and not on SET M, which would have been refused as you would not have qualified for ilr.

FLR M is the correct form for a spouse visa visa extension.

You did not qualify for Set(O) either as this is also for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Your BRP states you have a spouse visa, you could only have applied on FLR(M), meeting the English and Financial requirements, to get a visa for 2.5 years.
