ILR - Long Residence

Post by Kocierz » Fri Aug 16, 2019 12:09 pm

Hi,

I arrived in the Uk on 28 Oct 2009 on Tier 4 student visa (valid from 14 Oct 2009). My visa categories and durations from then on are as follows.

Tier 4 Student visa - 14 Oct 2009 to 30 Nov 2012
Tier 1 Post study visa - 24 Aug 2012 to 24 Aug 2014
Tier 2 General - 10 Jun 2014 to 14 Apr 2016
Spouse visa - 24 Feb 2016 to 21 Sep 2018
Current spouse visa - 17 Oct 2018 to 15 May 2021

As I will complete my 10 years in the Uk on 14 Oct 2019 therefore, I wanted to confirm if I can apply for ILR long term or do I need to wait for 5 years on spouse visa to apply for ILR?

Also, I can’t exactly remember if my Tier 2 General visa was allocated to me on 10 June 2014 or 10 Aug 2014. I have a photocopy of biometrics card but it’s not clear on it. Is there a way I can find out the exact date?

Many thanks,
Hadia

You only complete 10 years on 28 October. Long residence ilr starts counting from the date you enter the UK and not your visa issue date.
