Entry clearance query

Hi,

I am applying for a tier 4 visa.
I would like to know if the UK home office would give me an entry clearance to arrive in the UK on the 11th of December 2019 if my University start date is 20th January 2020. I am doing a 1 year master's programme.

If this is not possible and the entry vignette allows me to enter only on the 20th of December (one month prior to my course start date) how do I apply to enter the UK before the given date on my vignette.
As I need to enter the UK on the 11th of December and then travel for a holiday and re enter the UK before my course begins.

As you appear to already know, your Tier 4 vignette can start a maximum one month before the start of your course.

You cannot do this. If you already have the Tier 4 vignette, applying for a General Visitor visa would cancel the Tier 4 visa. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... eave-ecb22

I advise you change your travel plans so you do not need to enter the UK as a visitor before the your Tier 4 visa's start date.

If you need to do some tourism before your studies, pick up another country and apply for a tourist visa there.

For the UK, there is not way on your situation. As the previous poster said, if you apply for a tourist visa, they might grant it but it will cancel the Tier 4.
