Hello everyone,
I going to apply for extension before 08/09/2019 (visa expiry date). However, I’m employed by agency since Aug 2018. My initial contract was for 5 months then it was extended for 3 months and then another 6 months until end of September 2019.
My hourly rate is £11.60 but the agency deduct £1.25/h holiday pay which means if I take a day off they pay me from that.
Now I’m confused if my situation comes under salaried or non-salaried employment. My payslips are abit confusing too and contains the following:
Gross £435 (11.60 x 37.5)
Net £321
Std pay £435
Holliday deduction -£46.86 (1.25 x 37.5)
Gross £388.14
My taxable income is £388.14 on which I pay tax and NI and it is the weekly pay I have been getting for the past 6 months regardless of holidays.
If I take days off during the week e.g 2 days off i.e 15 hrs in total in any week my payslip looks like this:
Gross £416.25 (261 + 155.25) see below
Net £321
Std pay £261 (11.60 x 22.5)
Holiday pay £155.25 (10.35 x 15)
Holiday deduction £-28.11 (1.25 x 22.5)
Gross £388.14
So the weekly gross salary remains the same at 388.14.
The confusing bit is it shows 2 gross amount on the payslips
1. The hours I worked before holiday deduction and plus holiday pay if any (see above)
2. Gross salary of 388.14 on which I pay tax.
Does this come under salaried or non salaried as it has been fixed at £388.14 for the past 6 months or sometimes 1p up or down in some weeks?
Another thing worrying me is my contract is until end of Sep 2019 and it may or may not get extended. Is this any issue?
Thanks in advance
