An error?? A British citizen is not subject to Appendix EU pre-settled status!!

As you can probably tell by the post timing it was a stressful post!

Sorry about that.

I am a pakistani national
Wife is British.
Both Kids are British.
I had A EU family member card from Netherlands but that expired in April.
I now have a residence card issued by the UK under the presettlement scheme.
I also have the eea2 on a4.

We wanted to travel to France.

I am afraid you need a Schengen visa for this trip.

Can I not use directive 2004/38/ec at the eurotunnel?

To travel under that Directive, you have to hold a current/valid EEA family member card with this statement printed on it:

Your wife has to hold an EEA passport (any except the British)

“Your wife has to hold an EEA passport (any except the British)”

The details above is part right and part wrong. Your spouse or yourself can be a British citizen and then spouse can hold residence card of family member of EU/EEA citizen but in certain circumstances.

My husband holds a British passport (born with British mother and born in UK), I hold a family residence card (as showed above) but I got this because we used to live in EU country (Cyprus), we came to UK through Surinder Singh so yes a British citizen and his/her spouse can travel without a visa in EU countries under exceptional circumstances.

I hope this make sense xx

I didn't want to confuse the OP :)

But yes, there are marginal cases where it would work with a British passport.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that I went and everything was fine.

Immigration at the ferry crossing did a once over on the a4 vigente, but no questions were asked of me.

So you went to Paris and back with pre-settled status card?

Amazing :) Hope you enjoyed your time.

Yes, but I didnt have to show the card. I had my EEA family permit that was on a4 vignette and that is all they looked at.

Ah OK, it makes sense now :)

You didn't travel with the Settlement Scheme card but the EEE national family member residence in the form of a sticker in the passport. That's absolutely fine and I am not surprised you could travel with it.

In other hand, the Settlement Scheme cards don't allow visa free travel to EEA countries because they are not delivered under EEA rules.
