Irish Citizenship traffic offence

Post by mdvd » Sun Aug 25, 2019 7:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding my Irish Citizenship application through naturalisation.
I recently got a ticket for driving on the bus lane this year. There as no points given to me.
I was wondering if I need to include this information in my application form ? Can this ticket affect my overall application ?

Thank you in advance for any help !

You MUST enclose it as mentioned in the application.

I had a speeding ticket (107km/h at 100km/h zone) in Netherlands and I enclosed the information in my application. No negative effect.

I’m surprised that they would send you an FCPN without a penalty point though.

Post by mdvd » Sun Aug 25, 2019 8:40 pm

Hi everyone,

I know that an original current passport must be send with the application.
Does anyone know when they will send the passport back ? Does it mean I need hold back any travel arrangements ?

Thank you !

The previous standard was 6 weeks. Most people got it back within a week or two, but then when Brexit came up, there was a massive delay and many people did not get their passport back within 6 weeks.

It appears that INIS has now made a new change in their process in the last few weeks, and all applicants are expected to receive their passports back within 2 weeks.
