Interesting... so this is how you replace your card! We've all been wondering how that process was planned for a while now. Thanks for sharing.

One thought though: It might be wise for people who still have some validity left on their EEA BRC to hold on for now and not do this yet if they plan to visit another EU country and if otherwise they'd need a visa to do so. The EEA BRC lets you visit EU countries without a visa provided you visit with your family member, the EUSS BRC does not.

Wow
Shall we try to convert our cards brc to sattlment status card using this link ? I'm very worry to try it and home office lose my cards before I apply for the citizenship....
What if I converted my brc to sattled statues card what date I will use to apply for naturalisation? Is it the earlier date when I got my status granted in February or let's say the card will be issued in October? So which date will be for the naturalisation? Interesting

I have made an application to change my brc 5 years to sattlment scheme card , booked my biometric appointment with sopra steria and they don't need much documents only brc , proof of address such as driving licence, and consent for the home office to verify application information all original documents , by the way there is option that you can do upgrade if your card under eea route and you want it under sattlment scheme route, plus option if you want to upgrade your card if you got pre sattled card to upgrade it to sattled statues...

Hi Everyone!
My BRC will expire in December 2020 where as I have now pre-settelled till 2024... my five years will complete in October 2020 shall I wait for 13 months and then apply for settled status or convert my EU BRC to EU Settlement BRC now bearing in mind that my relationship can get messy (Separate/divorce) any time before that?

Please give me a better suggestion!! Thank you everyone again!

Hi All

Ar17 thank you for sharing this very useful information, I have been recently granted a settled status and I was wondering myself that if my BRC will be replaced with my new status, if yes then how and what I'll need to do, it still valid until 2020, I was just wondering what are the pros and cons for keeping the EU family member BRC or changing it to settled status BRC (does anyone know what it says on the card, does it says Indefinite to remain or settled status)

Fbiboy2002, have you been told how long it will be before you get upgraded card? and what stage you will need to hand over your existing BRC ?

I am considering to apply to updated card but planning to travel abroad 3 weeks time so not sure how long this whole process can take.

Kind Regards
Ar

Guys I have had settled status in April i have searched many forms, spoke to HO many times

The answer is NO you can't upgrade your card from eea family member to serrled stauts.. those who say they have, i don't believe it. Homeoffice is clear you won't get a new card at all.. once your current card expires you will relay on the digital stauts , come on it's been debated in parliament but Homeoffice still decline any efforts to provide cards , not sure those who say they Asked to upgrade how they managed!
The ONLY case where you receive a card is if you don't have any, and you have applied without one.. and yes it does say indefinite leave to remain under settlement scheme
Other than that please don't waste your time. You will not change ,replace or upgrade your card
Unless Homeoffice give in to European demands on providing a card. Which will require new law

Hi, so you suggesting that not try to waste time right? Because i have issue about it as well. Which card i am holding now is BRP with retained rights of residence expiring in 2022. This Sunday i've granted settled status but i was wondering how should i replace my card. I was thinking to phone up resolution centre for directions and ask them if is possible and how.

There is no way... I think what they have done was just another eea card replacement which will say exactly the same family member of an EU citizen
No one will get replacement with new settled status on it . Believe me ..

You need to follow debates on parliament, as MPS and European groups fight for physical proof for them and replacement card for their partners but home Secretary priti Patel dismissed that. And said cards are subjects fraud, being lost or stolen and UK is approaching a new era of digital only In coming months and years

Not sure if home office secretary has declined to issue new or replacement cards. How would anyone apply??
Don't waste your time and if anyone claim otherwise ask them for proof

And whoever wrote above he went for biometric appointment?? If you have eea card and want replacement you don't need biometric appointment as HO has your details already

Please don't be mislead

The highest authority at Homeoffice said no replacement.. means no replacement untill otherwise

This link is completely different. It's for change in error in your card or replacement

It won't give you settled status

What my mainc concerned is and the main reason I am looking to get a replacement card is, if UK goes out on 31 Oct with no deal, and I'll be more likely to be returning to UK in Nov, I usually take connecting flights and has to go through different immigration, once UK is out of EU, I am sure my resident permit can be challenge before boarding on plan, I know once I land in UK, I'll have no problem as my BRP is linked with my
settled status but in any other country, how will the be able to verify that my BRP has settled status linked with it.

very confusing and frustrating tbh.

Also you have raised very valid point, Fbiboy2002 would you be able to share some information on it please, did you not already had the BRP, if yes then why did you have to make biomatrices appointment?

aw17, did you have the valid BRP already? have you been asked to make another appointment for BRP?

I guess this service is fairly new and not many knows about it, so please share any information you have.

Many thanks.

Thank you @aw17. Clearly, @hanihani is not following this thread at all, and has not even realized that a genuine link from the Home Office with all the options you have pointed out is already available, although still in BETA phase.
