Please try at 0114 207 4074 ( I got this number from Home office site ). You really need to be very patient as currently it is experiencing very high call demand. Let us know the status once you hear from them.

Hi guys,

Do I have to send my passport also with Tier 1 application, HSMP approval letter and Maintenance proof? I am outside UK. Or I will get my passport stamped in my country (in British embassy)?

Muzzy

sending in passport

Post by JayTulip » Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:37 am

You send your passport in together with Tier 1 application and all the other supporting documentation.
Be ready to be without passport for about 2 months, maybe more.
I was told yesterday that Urgent treatments are treated as requests only and just because a personsends one it does not mean they would be put in front of the queue.
Best of luck

I tried to call the HO, but the number always rings for a few minutes and then disconnects.

Where can the Urgent Treatment form be found, or will they accept any letter? And what is the number it needs to be faxed to?

Finally, what circumstances do they consider urgent? If there a guide on this possibly on the HO website, then please post the link.

Thanks!

Hello all

Just thought i would share my application status

I am applying for leave to remain with a valid HSMP approval letter. I received my HO reference number on June 13th...

I called the HO today, and was told they are processing all Tier 1 applications as of June 3rd.

I desperately need my passport back before August 7th as I am flying to Beijing for the Summer Olympics! Fingers crossed! I have faxed an urgent treatment letter, otherwise I may have to pull my application out early...I hope not, as its expensive...

Will let you know what happens...I plan on calling next Monday to see if there is any progress...

Hi Guys,

I have been a silent spectator here....but I think I owe to this forum more than anybody...

Application sent : 2nd June
Application received: 3rd June
Payment Deducted :5th June
Reference No. Received: 9th June
Visa Granted: 17th July
Documents: To be received in a day or two

Called them a couple of times in between but was always told that they cannot give us an update before 10 weeks. Called them today and they informed me that my documents were despatched today. Waiting on docs to come in tomorrow. My visa has been granted that is what they told me. So thanks a lot everyone and I hope this helps everyone. All the best guys with your future endeavours.

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone can suggest anything on my case.

Initial HSMP application form UK =20 Feb 2008
Application rejected= 12 April 2008 (given 60 points)
Applied for review with cover letter= 10 May 2008
Called HO today (after 10 weeks)= My case has NOT been assigned to caseworker yet!!

I applied for PSW on 2 July 2008 after a long wait for a hsmp decison.

Now waiting for PSW+passport as well as HSMP review outcome.

=>Any suggestions on HSMP review to be faster?
=>Will there be any problem getting PSW (formerly IGS) for the HSMP review application?

I know I just have to wait but any expert suggestions are highly welcome.

Thanks.

Post by praveent_2000 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 4:18 pm

Just to let you know guys...
This is for the people who are waiting anxiously for their tier1 application as I did...

Got the Visa on 16th July 08

So it took 6 full weeks

6 weeks

Post by carriew » Fri Jul 18, 2008 5:51 pm

Applied: 2 Jun
Acknowledgment : Didn't receive any!
Visa received: 16 Jun

It took me 6 weeks, but I think the time depends on the documents you submit/whether the case is complicated. I submitted a page for each section explaining my docs, maybe that was why I got it pretty quick!

Best of luck to everyone!

Tier1 (General) Applying from USA

Post by swami » Sun Jul 20, 2008 4:57 pm

As an FYI to everyone who is applying for Tier 1(General) from the US (applying from outsde UK) you have to follow the below procedures -
1. Go to the visa services website from UK home office website and select US from the list of countries
2. Complete the online application - you have to fill only one application for both the Tier 1 (General) approval and the Entry Clearance (EC)
3. Once you complete the application and pay the fees, you will be asked to select the state and center in the US where you have to go for providing your biometric data (finger printing)
4. Go to the center with your completed application and the appointment letter and provide your finger prints
5. After biometric data is given, you have to send all the supporting documents, passport and stamped biometric letter to the nearest UK embassy in the US (Note that you cannot hand deliver this)
6. Wait for the approval letter to come back. (At this time not sure what is the time taken for approval to come back since am in stage 3 only above)

Thought this info might help someone applying from the US
