Schengen visa application - French

Post by bathanza » Sun Sep 22, 2019 3:59 pm

Hello friends

We are looking at application for a short visit in France with the family.

I am British as well as my son..my husband is Pakistani with valid BRP leave to remain. Since he's had his visa he's travelled to Pakistan and Turkey. Not really complicated history.

I'll be funding whole trip.

Question is how long does it usually take to get the first Schengen visa approved and for how long?

We have about 4 weeks til we go on our trip so I'm hoping for a quick turn around.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

I’m a non eu citizen and husband is British.

Processing time are different, it always depends on someone’s case. I applied for visa in July and got an answer within 3 days, received my passport in 5 days from the day I applied. xx

Bless you for your reply. I really hope we get it back soon. Will post an update.

I believe it does depend on what passport you have.

Hi!

Nothing to worry. Usually if the required documents are in order, it takes about three days. If there is some verification needed or any other check is required it might take long but 15 working days seems to be the limit for most cases.

Hope this helps.

Wanted to update this post

We got the passport back on Monday with a nice shiny stamp for 1 month validity in all EU states.

It took 10 working days and we opted for dx secure delivery

I had taken out Post Office insurance which DIDNT cover Spain, oversight as I chose European cover and there were two levels of cover which included Turkey. I opted for the first.

Very glad we got the visa as clearly it states all countries need coverage :)
