Visa change from Tier 2 Dependent to Tier 4 Student Visa

Post by Raviteja440 » Fri Sep 20, 2019 7:24 pm

Hi,

I am currently living in UK for almost 3 years as 'Tier 2 ICT - dependent. I Would like like to pursue PG next year in any UK Universities. Could anyone please answer the below questions ?

1. Can i switch from tier 2 ICT Dependent to Tier 4 Student Visa in UK Itself without going to Home country ?
2. Can my husband switch from his Tier 2 ICT visa to be my dependent after i changed my Visa to Tier 4 ? Can he make the switch here itself like me ? Is there any cooling period involved during these switches ?
3. Should i and My husband (with 3 Yr old kid) make the Visa change at the same time ? or can my husband do it little later ?

He needs to do it later, after you have the Tier 4 visa.

Thanks for the reply. I have few follow up questions if that is ok?

1. Can you please provide any links/references to switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 4 Student Visa ? How long the Visa process would take and do i have to stay in my home country until i get the Visa ?

2.My Husband is currently is finishing 6 Years in UK by Next year. (1 year Tier 2 Ict Short term & 2 + 3 Years Ict Long Term. Is there a settlement route available for him as he is more than 5 Years in UK or does he have to look into 10 year Long route ?

3. if it is 10 years route. He is planning to stay as my dependent for 1 yr and return back on Tier 2 ICT to complete 10 years. Are there any issues with this planning ?

Please let us know.

You apply online in the normal way at gov.uk. Same website has the current processing times.

For individual advice about your Tier 4 application, the international student adviser at your university is the best source.

Your questions about settlement are not my area of expertise.
