ILR Application -When did you first enter the UK (Tier 2 General)

Hi ImmigrationBoard Team,

My current visa status:
1. Tier 2 (general) Visa granted - [02/12/2014 - 15/12/2019]
2. Entered the UK 13/01/2015 (After 42 days)
3. While under tier 2 visa, changed the Sponsor and granted new visa - [17/08/2015 - 22/09/2019]
4. Extended Tier 2 visa same Sponsor - [20/05/2019 - 13/01/2021]

I would like to get clarifications regarding my ILR Application:

• Am I eligible to apply for ILR based on my First Sponsor and First visa granted date? (Based 02/12/2014 date I am eligible 28 dates before 02/12/2019. Is this correct? )

• In ILR application Immigration history section, When did you first enter the UK? Is this 13/01/2015 Physically I entered to the UK date or 02/12/2014 Visa granted date?

• Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth? Do I need to enter my previous TRAVEL details before tier 2 Visa started (I didn't live other than my motherland before entered to the UK but I traveled some countries prior to the 2/12/2014)

Regarding your questions, I hope these answers would be helpful to you:

Am I eligible to apply for ILR based on my First Sponsor and First visa granted date? (Based 02/12/2014 date I am eligible 28 dates before 02/12/2019. Is this correct?

The only thing you need from your first employer is the letter with all the absents you been outside the UK, you will need a letter from the current employer who is the main one for your application confirming they still need your services for the foreseeable future stating all the absents as well.

In ILR application Immigration history section, When did you first enter the UK? Is this 13/01/2015 Physically I entered to the UK date or 02/12/2014 Visa granted date?

The date you physically entered the UK which is 13/01/2015

Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth? Do I need to enter my previous TRAVEL details before tier 2 Visa started (I didn't live other than my motherland before entered to the UK but I traveled some countries prior to the 2/12/2014)

I have contacted UKVI about that and they said just enter the rough date of where you lived since you were born, It doesn't have to be the exact dates but it needs to cover all the time since you were born.

You are confusing two different things completely.

You can apply no sooner than within 28 days before the INITIAL START date of your visa.

No!! HO do actually know the rules.

It's counted from the day that your first leave has been granted which is 04/12/2014 so I would suggest that you apply by 10/Nov/19 to be on the safe side.

I read most of the articles in this forum and UK gov sites and I know that the calculation starts from the visa issue date. But there isn't any place to enter the VISA issue date in ILR application. The only information I have to provide in the Application is When did you first enter the UK? This is the date you entered the UK when the period of stay you are basing this application on started. and in my case that is 13/01/2015. If there isn't any mentioned about 02/12/2014 in the application of how my case office knows about my starting date.

You are not required to enter the visa issue date, HO know the rules and will obviously have your full immigration record and your passport copy in front of them when processing your application. The question about date of entry is completely separate to the qualifying period.

Thimira, They only care about the visas that you have been granted so you definitely can apply for ILR by around 06/Nov/2019 onwards and you don't have to worry as this is 100% correct. You may satisfy yourself more by calling UKVI on 03001232241 and pick option 4 then option 1 and they will confirm all details you want.
