Kingston Jamaica Biometric Appointment for UK Spouse visa

Post by KBECKFO » Sun Sep 15, 2019 7:20 am

Hi,
Can someone please tell me the process of the biometric appoint?
What do you have to bring with you?
Does the sponsor submit application and supporting documents in the UK?
Can the applicant submit additional supported documents at the appointment?
Sorry for all the questions........Thanks in advance :D

Hi,

My husband recently completed this process and took the following:-

His Passport
Confirmation of his appointment
A copy of the application submitted (we applied via access UK and it was advised that a copy of the submitted application was taken to the appointment).

He had a few supporting documents that they scanned in for him (at a cost) and I submitted the bulk of it here in London.

Hope this helps.

It is better for the supporting documents to be submitted in one go rather than in batches.

Thank you all very much for the info. Can you please tell me how much the fee is for the biometrics?
And do I submit the bulk supporting documents in the UK after my husband does his biometrics? And do I pay a fee for that also?

Thanks in advance :-)

You do not have the pay extra for bio-metrics. Once you have applied online (I applied via AccessUK) they will take you to their partner website VFS, where you can book the appointment.

Yes, submit your evidence in the UK after his appointment. You can either self scan and upload for free via the VFS website (this was a real pain for me), or go to one of the scanning centres and have one of the representatives scan it in for you. If you choose to go to the VFS centre, you will be charged £75 for them to scan everything in.

My husband had his own evidence to submit and done this at his bio-metrics appointment (for a fee).
I had the bulk of it scanned to VFS in the UK.

I did have a worry that my submission would override his but I think I was thinking too much into it and when I called VFS and was assured that all evidence will under the same reference would be considered as one.

They are unlikely to take responsibility should things go wrong.

You won't have to pay extra, if self-uploading.

Rather than upload my supporting documents, can I just go to the centre myself and give them my printed copies of my supporting documents?

Or does everything have to be scanned now?

Thanks

Spouse Visa Application Progress Check

Post by KBECKFO » Thu Oct 24, 2019 2:45 pm

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how I can check the status of my spouse visa application??

I submitted my supporting documents on the 16th October at the UK Visa office. They gave me a receipt but I want to know the progress.

I thought I would of received an email or something to say that they have received my docs.

Can anyone help??

Thanks in advance
