When should I apply?

Post by Avy18 » Sun Nov 03, 2019 10:46 am

Hello all seniors, Please suggest.
I will be eligible for citizenship on 27th Nov 2019 as I will be completing my 1 year on ILR.
I was granted ILR on 27th Nov 2018. Shall I register online and make a payment now for UKVS and book an appointment for 27thNov bio metrics and document checking service.
My question is will they consider my date of application today or on the day I attend bio and document check.
As I am new to this forum please suggest whats the fastest process to get naturalization.
Thanks in advance for you comments.

Date of application is the date you submit and pay online. You should apply once you meet the requirements, including ILR for 12 full months. There is no '28 day early' concession for citizenship.

There is no 'fastest process' to get naturalisaiton. Sometimes it takes a couple of months, sometimes it takes 6 months or longer.

You were also advised in December last year that you could have applied as you were still married to a British citizen.

Thanks for reply however we are separated. Divorce is not finalized yet just do not want to waste 1330 if the found out we are living separate. I have a full custody of my child British.
I will not be able to get the copy of her passport too so I waited 1 year after ILR.

Custody of your child is irrelevant to your citizenship application.

You can apply on or after 27th November, i.e. submit and pay.

You apply online and book appointment at UKCVAS for biometrics. There is no postal option anymore.
