Visitor Visa to India for the Kid

Hello,
We are thinking to apply for indian passport for my kid, does it required dad's original passport and visa?

Dad's details and approval is needed, no exceptions.

Your question is light on details. Does the dad have Indian citizenship/OCI? Which nationality does he have?
