URGENT Help needed

Post by apsk » Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:50 am

Hi Gurus

One of my friends who applied for ILR (dependent) via normal route in Sept and attended biometric appointment in Oct end. His father got stroke plus brain hamrage and of course now he would like to travel to see him and be with his mother. While he is still waiting for his decision on ILR, what is the suggestion for him? Can he now upgrade to same day service or he can withdraw his application or something Home office can support him for the travel? He can produce any required medical certificate from hopsital his father is being treated.

Thanks in advance.

Once standard service is chosen, there is no way to upgrade to Super Priority.
He can contact homeoffice to speedup the process. However it is unlikely that they'll pay any attention to the request.
If he travels whilst the application is in process, it will be considered withdrawn.

If he still has a valid visa, he can withdraw the application and can travel back home. He can apply again once he is back.

Getting all the required docs would make a difference but still may take a little time.

What sort of a dependant visa is it?
Pbs or spouse route?
Has visa expired?
If PBS, has main applicant received ILR?

Depending on background. Could reapply with super priority.

PBS Tier 2 dependent with main application received ILR earlier this year

In that case and going on the timelines of such applicants.. should receive it any day now as it’s been two months already.
1. Write a letter to HO requesting an urgent decision attach doctors note. Email n post.
2. Apply with super priority. The new application will take precedence. Attach cover letter detailing urgency and doctors note so there is absolutely no delay in issuance of BRP.
3. Leave immediately to be with father. Withdraw application and request refund under the circumstances.
