My interpretation of these terms:
"at an advanced stage of processing" - means anything after the second stage letter has been sent
"being prepared for submission to the Minister" - means anything after the application has been acknowledged
After second stage checks, there is a final checklist that a supervisor needs to sign off. The advanced stage refers to this process.
Once the application is signed off, they get sent to the minister for final decision. The minister only signs off applications one to two months before the ceremony.
Good point thank you guys, now as I been moved to second stage just in June 2019 means I gotta wait another year for a letter to be on advanced stage then another year for approval :D GOD DAMN IT   I will be on 2022 ceremonies 8)

Has anyone got approval letter for Sept. 30th ceremony?
Just curious if the Sept. ceremony is still gonna hold.
This is getting really frustrating.

Hi guys,
I called them this morning for an update on my case after over an hour have been trying to get to them over the phone. I was told that my application is in progress but has not gone to the Minister yet for final approval.
I also asked is it possible for me to be part of this Sept. 30th ceremony? she said wasn't sure about that. Also said, I have to be patient, that at the moment, they dont need anything from me. But if they do I will be contacted.
I made her understand that have applied since Dec. 2017 and still pending for final approval?
She told me that was all she could divulge to me concerning my application, that I have to be patient.
She went further to say, they have lots of people waiting that are even more than 2 years.
This is very very frustrating.
Anyone with similar experience?

I got my approval in the end of June. Literally 3 years on the dot. Haven’t received invitations yet

There’s people from 2015 and 2016 that are still waiting. There are people who sent their original passports out and were told to submit their passports and how they were never “received”. Their are people who’s facing Jon removal and social welfare have been stopped because they submitted all their ids

I personally know someone who has applied in 20-5 and has not received one damn thing

The new minister seems to be a super lazy person. I remember how they were issuing approvals exactly after 6 months not long ago, but now they dont seem to care. Someone really needs to drag them to high court again.

Do you think your nationality has anything to do with it? Ie are you from Afghanistan as your flag indicates? Is this someone you know also from Afghanistan?

I personally don’t think it has anything to do with nationality. I think it’s pure luck and whether or not you file is on the top or bottom pile

This department is extremely unorganized and are mostly overwhelmed.

I applied in Mar 2017

And have been in stage 2 from jul 2018
Gave a call to the information line on Thursday and a very nice officer said that my file is now with the minister for a decision
I called today and the lady said that it’s now prepared to be submitted to the minister.

Anyone have been at this stage and can give from there experience how long it would take from this stage ? And what’s next in terms of process ?
Is this what they call advanced stage or is this after the advanced stage or before ?

Now that the ruling has been overturned by COA, let's see how soon another date for the ceremony will be.
Hopefully Jan, Feb. or March next year.

This is good news for us all in the waiting.

Whichever it is, fingers crossed. At least there's been overturned of ruling by COA which is the MOST important factor.
Those of us waiting for approval letters are here.
Applied since Dec. 2017. Hopefully, we get a good news soon.
Can't wait to get out of this SHIT. 8) 8) 8)

A friend told me he got approval letter today and told to pay the €950. He applied early this year.

This is becoming frustrating. I applied since Dec. 2017 and have not gone approval letter yet.

Anyway fingers crossed this is still Tuesday of the week,

Hopefully, before the end of week.

Have you guys tried to contact them recently regarding your application status via email? They are very quick at responding emails with current status of the application. Try to reach them out

I emailed them & also got the same reply "Your application continues to be processed". Its so frustrating as people who applied even in 2019, are getting approval/invitation letters. I applied in January 2017 & still waiting. Does anybody on the forum here, has any advice for all of us?

My 6 friends waiting from 2017 and 1 from 2016.
Genuinely married and they all have kids.
Its completely mind boggling the way they are treating them. It's like they forget 2016,2017 files.
One friend from 2016 and one from 2017 started judicial review recently and DOJ replied to court that they will defend the judicial review as they believe 2,3 year is not enough time to bring judicial review.
Can u believe that.
System is completely faced and when they dont get their approvals its mean with every ceremony system letting them down.
Right now on name of back ground checks they are making fun out of them.
If DOJ cannot do background checks in reasonable time then they shouldn't have Garda, internal, external agencies. All departments work for Gov but they have no shame whatsoever when they write same copy pasted reply.

Yes do not vote for FG once u got citizenship.
Write down ur experience and send to ur local FG TD and tell them ur not voting for them and ask ur friends to not vote them.
In next year u will see more and more citizenship before May 2020.
These Rats in Government wants your vote.
