First British passport

Post by dzevel5 » Tue Nov 12, 2019 1:17 pm

Hi all,

after attending to the ceremony, I'd like to apply online for a passport.
I read this: https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-adult-passport

and I'm quite confused. At the end of the pre-check process, I've got this based on my circumstances:

1 Get a digital passport photo - Understood

2 Apply and pay online - Understood

3 Ask someone to confirm your identity - Understood

4 Send us your documents
They need to be originals. We’ll tell you what you need to send. - What Docs? Married certificate and Birth certificate is likely to be asked again? I was born outside the UK/EU. although I've got the naturalisation, it's not an issue for me to provide it again, but I just want to make sure and prepare my documents.

5 Go for an interview
If you need an interview, we’ll write to you with the details. - How likely?

Yes, that's the HMPO requirement - use special delivery.

Naturalisation certificate and all uncancelled passports.

What if you don't have all uncancelled passports? I only have 1 ... my current passport. I can't find the other ones.

There is no separate status for when your application joins the queue and when it's with an HMPO official. The next status update you will see is to confirm that your application has been approved followed shortly by an update when your passport has been dispatched.

Thank you, I appreciate that.
Do you know whats the average time between this status until it will be shipped?

I've tried to look at the timelines but I've got a bit confused with the "join the queue" status - if this is like you said, the same as my current status, so I guess I have at least 10 more days (?)

2-3 weeks in the whole process normally.
