Super priority refund

Post by theguyfromargentina » Sun Nov 17, 2019 12:27 pm

Hi, I applied for ILR SET(O) with super priority last month and HO did not comply with the service standard (14 days instead of 24 hours) so I'm looking for a refund.
I've seen similar cases in this forum where the refund was apparently automatic but unfortunately that did not happen in my case.
Here's the timeline:

04/10/2019 : application sent and paid, documents uploaded
11/10/2019 : Biometrics appointment
11/10/2019 : Got an email from HO saying they were missing an English language test certificate, which was not true. Rang Sopra Steria, they confirmed the application was indeed correct.
18/10/2019 : Called HO about the case, told to wait a few more days.
22/10/2019 : Called HO again, formal escalation.
23/10/2019 : Received a generic email in response to escalation.
25/10/2019 : Approval received.
01/11/2019 : received BRP card.
10/11/2019 : Wrote to xxxxxxxxxx explaining the case and asking for a refund. Got an automated rejection email saying that the address was only for internal communication only. So I sent the same email to complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk .

7 days later I've not received any replies. Can anyone please advise on how to proceed?

Many thanks

You totally deserve a refund.
Was ur email acknowledged?
They take abt 20 days to reply and I think 12 weeks to sort it out.
Having said that- HO did technically respond within 24 hours. Did you provide a copy of ur English Lang very immediately in reply to the email from HO?

Refunds are issued automatically and can take several weeks :!:

Thanks for the quick replies!

That's the thing - I did provide the English lang test certificate, someone in Sopra Steria or HO either misplaced it or just didn't see it in the application. In any case, definitely not my fault :-/

Guess I'll just wait a few more weeks then!
Thanks again - this forum is amazing and you are doing an amazing job.

Hi,

Sorry for this, I would like to know which number we can call for formal escalation?

Thanks

Update: I got an email from HO yesterday confirming the processing of the refund within the next four weeks.
