PASSPORT RENEWAL ( SOUTH AFRICA)

Hi there , I've just recently entered the UK on the 4th of November. I've gotten married and have not renewed my passport as of yet . What do I need in order to apply for a new passport with my husbands surname ? We got married In Ukraine in August . Also how long does the passport name change process take ?
Ps. Do I need to register the marriage first before application of name change
