Citizenship Denial

Post by SouthAfricanNomad » Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:22 pm

Hi guys.

Does anyone know the stages at which an application can get denied and the possible reasons per stage

Eg
Stage 1 - obviously if don’t meet the requirements (length of residency etc)
Stage 2- criminal record etc
Advanced stage?

Have there ever been denials at this stage?

Many thanks

Nobody would get a rejection after stage 1 as long as the 3/5 year residency requirement is met.
All information is gathered and they provide a suggestion to the minister. The minister will decide whether he wants to approve your application.

Not really, there was a case where a person was denied even after swearing the oath but before receiving the certificate (at that time you would get it later).

He brought it to court and lost.

Can’t seem to find it online- do you know the details surrounding the case? How odd!
