Missing Salary Slip - What can substitute Salary Slips?

Post by nishantchawla » Mon Jul 28, 2008 8:45 am

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for Tier 1 in the month of October 2008 from India. So I would need to show past 12 months Salary Slips, i.e. from October 2007 to September 2008 as proof of Past Earnings.
I have a Salary Slip MISSING; for the month of February 2008. Though there is an entry in the bank statement for that month.

Note: I have Salary Slips prior to October 2007.

1. Will it be OK to show 11 Months Salary Slips and 12 Months Bank Statement?
2. What other document can I produce to substitute the one Missing Month?

I am not working with that company any more, so I have limited or no access to the HR Functions.

No

See Tier 1 policy guidance notes, paragraph 123(3) and paragraph 127.

Hi Nishantchawla,

Can you ask your employer to reissue the payslip and get a seal and sign on it. That would be much easier approch...

Cheers

Read the guidance notes. I cant advise in respect of Tier 1, but under HSMP, there were other documents that could be provided if you had missing payslips. These included tax documents, a letter from your employer, and bank statements.

Refer General) Policy Guidance page 15 of 41.: ( I hope this helps)

An applicant does not have to be in continuous
or full-time employment during the 12 months being
assessed.
83. An applicant may claim for a period of earnings
of less than 12 months if they have earned suffi cient
funds to claim the necessary points.

I had a similar query and UK BA said thay you can claim for any period (< than 12 months) as long as you have points. If you have the salary slip missing you will not be able to claim points for that month even if that transaction is there on your bank statment.
I would advise you to contact the UK BA office and explain your case

Had a talk with my previous employer, they have agreed to issue me a duplicate pay slip. They would issue me a pay slip on a white paper not company letter head but it would be stamped and signed.

Will it be acceptable in lieu of my missing salary slip. I can show the corresponding entry in the bank statement. Or is it required only on the company letter head.

I have sent only 5-6 months of salary slips and around 11 month bank statements. But the thing is in the UK payslips, you have account of how much salary has been paid for the whole year. So it really does not matter.
I know this because I asked BA if they needed additional documents ( I have a letter from employer to prove my salary) they talked to my caseworker and he said there is no need. So see if your salary slip has record of payments.
