Tier2 general - New Employer BRP not arrived

Hi,

I am on Tier2 Gen visa and recently got a new job. My appointment for biometric was on 7th Nov and received the letter on 8th Nov. Since then I am waiting for my BRP as I can not join the new job without BRP (as per the immigration lawyer). After followup they HomeOffice saying "production of the BRP has been delayed due to a technical issue".
My problem is that right now I am not working and sitting at home waiting for BRP to arrive.

Is there any way I can track this or any way to join the new company without BRP delivery?

Ask the employer to run this check, which could allow you to work for 6 months while you wait for your BRP.

Just posting my answer again in the right forum.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
