What happens next for dependent applications? Will they ask us to pay more IHS charges as they will now be granted 3 years leave to remain?
Congrats!
Yes. They’ll obviously be granted ext and if you’ve not paid the entire IHS amount, a request would be sent out.
You’ve not stated their immigration history..
was ur child born here?

PBS dependent timeline (wife & daughter who was born in Pakistan):

Visa is valid from 26-Jan-2016 and entered in the UK on 02-Feb-16.

02-Feb-16 to 31-Aug-2017 Tier 2 leave to remain
01-Sep-2017 to 14-Sep-2019 Tier 2 leave to remain

PBS dependent timeline (a son who was born in the UK):

01-Sep-2018 to 14-Sep-2019 Tier 2 leave to remain for travel purposes only.

I have not applied an extension for my UK born child as my attention is to register him as a British citizen.
Isn't it right? I heard that recently HO has changed rules about overstayers. I am unsure whether it will have any impact on my child application.

My full immigration history is here.

indefinite-leave-to-remain/tier-2-to-il ... l#p1791021

I paid 1 year IHS charges. So, I would expect that HO will ask for the remaining two years IHS charges.

Surprisingly, today I have received the approval letters for my dependents. They did not ask for any IHS charges. It means they have been granted a visa for 1 year :(
I was thinking that the rule is to grant 3 years visa for dependents if the main applicant is already granted ILR. Isn't it?
Shall I contact HO to ask for more leave now? If so, which email address? I know the name of caseworker but there is no email address.

😂 my response would have been that it would be impossible for me to have entered on 11 Jan 2020 as a time machine has not been invented as per my knowledge.
Good luck. It’ll work out.

:)
The caseworker apologised for the oversight and finally granted my ILR using a super-priority service. However, my dependent applications using standard services are still pending.

What happens next for dependent applications? Will they ask us to pay more IHS charges as they will now be granted 3 years leave to remain?

Hi ukvisat2,

I'm in a similar situation.
Did you manage to get a refund of the Tier 2 extension fee and the IHS for yourself?

Thanks

I only received Tier 2 extension fee. It came to my bank account automatically on the 10th working day from the approval date. I don't think they will refund IHS as it is clearly mentioned on the website.

You will not get a refund if:

your visa application is successful but you do not come to the UK
you leave the UK before your visa ends, for example to make a new application
you’re told to leave the UK before your visa expires
you’re applying for indefinite leave to remain or changing to another visa where you do not need to pay the IHS

I only received BRP for my daughter with the validity of 3 years. I am still waiting for my wife BRP and payment instructions.

A quick question is related to my son's registration as a British Citizen. He will be 2 years old next month. Do I need to enrol his biometric for MN1?

Eligibility criteria: One of the parents received ILR(10 year Long Residency route)
Applicant: Non-EU, but born in the UK

Application Timeline
Method of application: Online- 09 Aug 2019
Date of the debit of fees: 10 Aug 2019
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 12 Aug 2019
Date of biometric enrolment: Not required for children of 2.5 years
Date of receipt of approval: 26 September 2019

FYI Please check the below link wherein IHS was refunded in a similar situation.

Also, I followed the advice on this link and called up UKVI on ‭0300 123 2241. They told me IHS will be refunded. Fingers crossed!

Please do keep the forum informed :)

Not necessarily. Wait for BRPs to arrive.
Finally, I received BRPs for my dependents, but I have not received any instructions about paying the remaining 2 years IHS charges. Shall I wait or call them to clarify this?

Are the BRPs of the length you expected and not relative to the IHS surcharge you paid, which was ur initial concern?
If you feel you are morally obligated to pay according to the length of the visa issued than feel free to contact the complaints team. It’s a technical issue.
On the other hand I wouldn’t bother and move on with my life

What date did you enter the UK exactly. Hope you have not exceeded the 180 days absence limit. That might be the reason the caseworker is trying to help here.

I paid IHS charges for one year for myself and two dependents. My dependents received a three-year extension as per the rule.
I am thinking to request IHS refund for myself as I varied my application to ILR.
HO said I will get a response regarding payment/refund within 6 weeks from the date of approval.
