Splitting Tier2 sponsorship license with potential employer fee possible?

Post by abby2019 » Mon Dec 09, 2019 8:28 am

At the moment I have a Tier2 general visa still valid 4 years more sponsored by my current employer. If I want to leave the job for anew employer then
1. Does the new employer need to re do a new UK Labour market test to transfer my Tier2 sponsorship certificate?
2. Do I need to leave the country for transfer of sponsorship?
3. Typically how long does this process take?
Thanks

1. If your job is non shortage, then yes the new employer needs to do the full RLMT before they can offer you the job and issue a UCoS. Note you have to APPLY for a new visa. You cannot 'transfer' your sponsorship.

2. No.

3. Depends what service you choose and if your new employer has CoS available.

Time taken for Tier2 general transfer from one company to another

Post by abby2019 » Fri Feb 28, 2020 4:27 pm

Hello,
Can I please get some advice on the typical timeline that I should anticipate and plan for. I have a Tier2 general visa that is valid till 2/9/2023 and would like that one to be transferred to another company. I am currently looking for a new opportunity and would like to know how long does the transfer take and if there is any cause of concern to lose my Tier2 status in any case.
Thanks

Topics merged!!!

You cannot "transfer" your current visa to a new sponsor.

If you get a new sponsor and meet all the requirements, you have to apply for a new change if employer tier 2 visa and pay the fees and IHS again.

The process was already explained when you asked in December 2019.
