Claiming benefit when one parent has ILR

Post by pikachu1 » Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:03 am

Hi,

Can someone advise me on claiming 30-hour childcare and tax-free childcare?

I have got an ILR and my wife is still on a dependent visa?

Is it ok to claim the above-mentioned benefits without affecting future ILR application for my wife?

As long as you (ILR holder) claim benefits, it shouldn't have any impact on your wife's application.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

A full list of what constitutes public funds for the purpose of Immigration applications can be found here - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 4.0ext.pdf if it’s not on the list, it doesn’t count.
