A couple notes to assist in the timeline - the 'issue' in my application was that I did not realise that I MUST be present in the UK 5 years ago to the day of the date of my application. It just so happened that I was on a business trip on the 29th May 2014 and out of the country that day. As such, the caseworker allowed me to reapply using the time frame of 21st October 2014 - 21st October 2019.

I reached back out to the caseworker on the 7th November to enquire if anything else was needed and she was kind enough to provide an update to our application and informed me that it would be approved within the next couple of days. We then received our letters (my spouse, 4 yr old son and I) on the 18 November

The caseworker was incredibly sweet and we were very fortunate that she provided updates as I can absolutely sympathise with those whom continue to wait for a decision.

I just want to end by saying how incredibly helpful this forum has been over my 8.5 year journey. It has truly been useful in understanding how the visa and citizenship process actually works and the moderators do an amazing job keeping it clean and moving forward!

To those who are still awaiting a decision, I know this doesn't add much value but at the end of the day you just have to be patient. No news is NOT bad news - the process moves at its own pace and we cannot control it. Just know that as long as you meet the criteria you will be approved even if you did what I did!

Already 10wks since Biometric enrolment and staff at UKVCAS have told me to wait 6-8wks for response. lm beginning to worry now.This has really tested me mentally and physically.

I got refusal letter today. It stated that I worked during my overstay times in 2012. HO letter suggested to reapply on 15 January 2023 or to lodge a reconsideration. I decided to wait for January 2023 as I have nothing/welcoming back home. Live long United Kingdom

I wrote an email to the Home Office (NationalityCaseworkDecisionService@homeoffice.gov.uk) and received this answer 25 minutes (!!!!) later:
Your application was granted 1st May 2020.
There is a delay on sending ceremony invites out at present, as local authorities holding ceremonies have only just begun to reopen.
You should receive an invite through the post shortly, but please be patient, during covid19 measures our resources have been limited and there is a period of catching up whilst we work with local authorities to restart ceremonies once again.

And today (5 days later) I received the official decision letter.
