Hi, what was your situation? Unmarried couple or married couple application? What previous visa did you have before? Sorry all the questions, just want to see how similar your application was to mine. I was on Tier 2 that is now cancelled.

I applied on the 4th of November, then received the COA on the 6th of November and I'm still waiting.

Cheers

I had lived in Norway (not EU citizen) for about 8 years and met my now husband when he was there for a year. Had a couple kids and married in 2018. Been together 7 years now. My application was pretty textbook for Surinder Singh route.

Hi there. Quick question. What does COA looks like? My husband (non-eu) applied for prr-settlement status mid December 2019 but has not received COA. He only received a confirmation of his biometric appointment next week. What is really COA?

He’ll receive a letter that will have in big letters: “certificate of application”. It’s just a fancy wording for they are in receipt of his application. He’ll most likely get one within a few weeks after completing his biometrics appointment.

Are they going to send it by email or post? I just did my biometrics last 30th of Dec. and when I inquire about the status online, they replied

Thank you for contacting the Settlement Resolution Centre.
Your case is currently under consideration. You will be notified by the caseworker if any additional information is required or when a decision is made.

It’s different for everyone, as I received COA and decision on the same day, exactly after one month , my non eu husband received COA after one day of submitting biometrics (28 of October) but still he is waiting for his decision

Hi everyone!

I've been following this thread for a while now but I am wondering for everyone that received a decision - did you receive it via email or via letter?

My wife (non-EU) has been waiting since end of September on a decision, received COA beginning of November, and on the 20th they asked for more evidence, which we provided on the 21st.

She still hasn't heard anything and the helpline just gives the same answer as always "It's with a case worker"

Apparently they can't even confirm if they've received the evidence, as it goes straight to the case worker?

Any idea of how much longer it might take? And whether the decision will come through via email or letter? COA was letter but request for evidence was email so I'm a bit confused haha.

Thank you in advance! :)

Hello AshJK. Thanks for the post. How long did it take you to get your EU settlement scheme visa? Thanks.

Hello,

I have filed for pre-settled status using the online EU settlement application process as the spouse of an EU national, without a previously issued BRC. Application and biometrics done on 30 Mar. I have seen the generic UK VI processing time claim of 5 to 9 days, but this is not meaningful as they have no actual data at the current date for such first time BRC cases. I was wondering if any such first time BRC applicants using the new system could share their understanding and experience of real processing times for the CoA being issued as well as the final decision.

To avoid clutter on this thread, please note that I am only looking for information on processing times for first time non-EU family member BRC applicants using the new online EU settlement application website. Usually spouses who work in the UK on BRPs, or are here on student visas, or other limited leave to remain visas are the ones who would have filed for this specific pre settled or settled status BRC visa type, which requires a biometric appointment.

Best Regards,
Ashim

I received my COA via email roughly 2.5 weeks after I applied online and two weeks after my biometrics appointment.

Still waiting on any further communication, though I would believe my situation is fairly straightforward since I've been resident in the UK for the better part of 10 years...

Hi guys
I’ve been following this forum for a while now and it’s really helped me so I thought I’d share my experience and timeline

First time in UK: may 2013 ( tier 4)
Visa curtailed : April 2018 failed to meet visa requirements
Spousal visa : may 2018 unmarried partner
Visa refused :August 2018
Detained on reporting :December 2018
Asylum application: December 2018
Married eu national: August 2019
Eu application: 29-08-2019 pre settled
Biometric : 1-09-2019
After several calls and complains
COA received: 2-01-2020 1:15pm
Decision : pre settled 2-01-2020 1:56pm
Brp arriving in 7 working days

I know a lot you have been waiting for months now and it’s frustrating not knowing what’s going on but all I can say is you keep praying hard and hope everything will be alright
Few months ago I was on the verge of being deported with no visa everything is different just be patient and you will get good news.

Called resolution centre. They say we have a huge back log at the moment and keep 4 weeks in mind after you have received your COA. Can take bit more longer if any other evidence is required. After all its just like other applications. Never know when you will get an answer. Patience is all we can have !
