Marriage Registration between Spanish and non EU spouses

Hello! We are Spanish girl and Tanzanian man, we got married 10months ago, and we have been together for 1year and a half alredy, on friday 3rd january 2020 we had an apointment for marriage Registration in the Spanish consulate after having all the required papers and stamps.Aftet the interview they told us that they Will answer us on the coming week and now we very nervous even though we know our marriage id real, we know some Friends Who got registered their marriage same day and this is what make us to be nervous. What if they say no whats another right way to follow So that our marriage is registered in Spain? Thanks.

Nothing to worry. They have to take some time to verify the signatures as Tanzania is not a member of the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. I take it that you got married in Tanzania. The process is fairly long but in short I hope you did it right.

The documents get stamped by RITA in Dar and then get another stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dar. From there they either get legalized in the Spanish Embassy in Tanzania for use in Spain or in Tanzanian Embassy in France (it covers Spain) for use in Spain. So you can see that the verification will have to take a bit of time.
