Hi all.
A quick question, please reply.
Am a non eu family member of a eu national. For my pre settled status, is it necessary for my spouse to be working?
Thanks

Shouldn’t be that long. Better give them a call to check if everything is in place !!
I already been calling and it doesn't make change, it's no fair mine in backlog for 7 months and people getting answer in 2 months ! total kaotic service never I'd recommend to anyone, 10 years ago i would rather immigrate to Canada than make of my sslf clown on hold for an entire seasson, what a disgrace

I finally received the COA via email.

Application : 23/12/2019
Biometrics : 30/12/2019 ( they scanned my passport so they said I do not need to post it)
COA : 15/01/2020

Waiting... btw sorry if this is off topic but the application for NI is really taking so long? I've been waiting for 3 weeks already...

I decided to check the status of my application (which should be fairly straightforward as I relied on the same information as the previous two residence cards) and it says it is still being processed. I followed up with a query regarding my application asking if there was any updated guidance on processing times and if they needed any further information from me. After checking the Settlement Scheme website for an updated processing time, it still claims most applications are decided within 5 working days of receipt of biometrics, but can take up to a month. (The website was updated on 8 January, so yesterday) I fall within the month band for processing because 1) they haven't asked for any further information as of yet and 2) I don't fit any of the other categories for which it could delay a decision. As of today it's been more than 6 weeks since my biometrics, so we'll see what the Home Office say in reply.
Finally got an email back from EU Settlement Resolution on 13 January:
We understand that you have not received any notifications about the progress of your application.

Having checked our records, we can confirm that your application has been submitted successfully. As you have stated in your message, the caseworker acknowledged receipt of your valid application via an Certificate of Application sent to you on 10 December 2019.

Your case is currently under consideration.

The Home Office has to make a number of enquiries before we can reach a decision to an individual under the terms of the EU Settlement Scheme. The extent and length of time taken to complete these enquiries varies according to the circumstances of each particular application.

The expected processing times for EU Settlement Scheme applications can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... plications

Please note, however, that the expected processing times are a guideline and are not service standards. As mentioned above, processing times can vary as all applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. (emphasis mine)

We will notify the caseworker today of your email and concerns. You will be contacted if any additional information is required or when a decision is made.

So 7 weeks on for a fairly straightforward non-EU spouse of an Irish citizen having been here on two previous 5-year residence cards. Just shows how much of a backlog they must have.

Hi!
Hope you are doing well!
I am in the exact same boat.
I have applied on the 13th of November and I am still waiting to hear from COA.
I have been calling the resolution center every other day, but nothing
I was wandering, when did you receive your pre-settled status?

Warm regards,

Hi all,

I am a non-EU spouse of an EU national. I've applied to the EU Settlement Scheme for the first time without a BRC or a Family Permit vignette sticker on my passport.

I’ve applied online on 30 March, right after my husband applied and linked my application to his with the application number he had. Being an EU citizen he received the COA and ILR (Settled Status) within the same day. However I needed attend to my biometrics appointment on 30 March.

Since then I’ve been waiting for the COA as I need to provide it for a job offer I received. But nada! I’m calling the Resolution Centre in every two days but all they say is to wait for few more days.

So anyone has any idea at least approximately how long these procedures can take? I understand with non EU citizens things are slightly slower for all?

Hi zain2020,
at least you heard from them, did they email or call you ?
my advise for you is to write a joined statement with your ex stating period you were living together
back it with evidence in case you haven't already send it and your clarify your actual situation
i wish you the best

Hi zain2020
I understand your situation, you can still put a statement forward presenting your situation and length during what you were living together, in hope that they will consider on that basis !

I guess adnane 2015 is right. Give them all the evidences you have rather losing hope. And state the position you are in. And finally hope for the best.
