Indefinite leave to remain to British citizenship

Post by Amina94 » Sat Jan 18, 2020 4:11 pm

Hi
Just wanted to ask if I am legal to apply for the British citizenship.?

I got indefinite leave to remain in the Uk in 2007 at the age of 14.
My father got the British citizenship the same year.
We stayed in the Uk from 2005-2008 but didn’t apply for the British citizenship as we had to move out to another country for a year.
Since then We have been coming to the Uk every two years for 2-3 months.
Now we have permanently moved here since past two years.
Am I eligible to apply for my British ? Or when?
I will be very grateful for the help.
God bless you.

Here is all you need to know: https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-in ... -to-remain
Among others: "You should also not have: spent more than 450 days outside the UK during those 5 years"
They seem to make exceptions in some cases, but my understanding is that the length of stay outside of the UK cannot be significantly longer than 450 days during these last 5 years.
