Spouse Visa application

Post by hm1992 » Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:41 pm

Hi all
new to this site so was hoping i could get some guidance.

I am in the process of applying online and had a few questions about where i upload the documents as some threads are saying to upload on vfs website. I am under the impression that the supporting documents are to be uploaded on the online application but i am not sure.

I am also unsure of biometrics and how the process for that works as i am very new to all this. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It will depend on what option you want.

1. You can self upload which is free.
2. You can opt for scanning at the biometrics for a fee called assisted scanning.
3. Sponsor can scan supporting documents in the UK for £75 at one of VFS centre.

I may be looking to self upload or at a VFS centre.
With the self upload i have been hearing it is difficult as the online visa application upload criteria is confusing or troublesome in relation to the size or format of the files. Is there any truth in that?

While other peoples experiences differ, it should not define yours. Keep to the required formatting and size limits and you should be fine. Personally, self upload is OK, decision is yours to make.

It is true that with self upload that you may experience few problems along the line but it would surely work eventually as the GOV website is full of bugs as well as it is also true that you must keep to the file limit otherwise you will experience a lot of difficulties. keep to the file limit by compressing the PDF file.

Hi. just a further question... i have started filling appendix 2 form in and have come to question 3.20 on the form. i am relying on part 3A category B for my application.

the question asks What was your sponsor’s total income (before tax) from salaried employment in the 12
months prior to the application?

i have only been working salaried employment from June 2019 and previous to this i was working on a non salaried job. How would i answer this question? Would i just put in what i have earned so far for the 6 months in salaried employment?

Hi,

So as the application process has changed and the uk gov are using the new online application, you dont actually need to do the Appendix 2 form. All the information is already on the online application.

Also go to the VFS immigration centre and submit your documents. They scan and upload. Takes 15 mins for me and cost £75.

I found for this process third party weblink removed by moderator really useful. They really helped me as they specialised in UK spouse visa's.

Best of Luck
