Tier 2 to Tier 4

Post by pride88 » Thu Jan 23, 2020 7:25 pm

Dear all,

I have a doubt which I have not been able to clarify. Is it possible for a person to switch from a Tier 2 visa (general) into a tier 4 visa? I already have a PhD which I gained in the UK.

All your expert advice will be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Pride88

Not sure where you are looking, but the answer is right there on the gov.uk website which is normally the first place to check. See https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/ ... -this-visa

Someone who has competed a PhD in the UK with a Tier 4 visa will be subject to the 8-year cap. See https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information-- ... layer-3002

Plus, they can only apply in the UK for further Tier 4 leave if their CAS confirms academic progression. Speak to your Tier 4 sponsor to check this or see the Tier 4 policy guidance.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
