Claining Universal Credit while wife on spouse visa

My wife is on a 2.5 visa and I have a 2 month old baby, I started claiming UC and it’s a joint claim but my wife is not entitled to any funds or benefits. I’m just confused now as she has 1 year left till the extension and I read up that I need to show £18,600 plus £3200 for my child, how on earth is this right? Any help anyone

Is your child British?? Unclear what your immigration status is!

If your child is British, the financial requirment is only £18,600pa.
