Fellow Dublin-to-Killarney-travellers, my ceremony is on the 3d.

But given the distance, I am planning on heading West on the 2nd. And since I've never been to Kerry, I am considering staying another night or two (4th or 5th depending on the weather as well) to explore the park, the coast etc.
I have already booked some accommodation but I plan on changing it anyway. I am looking at options but most likely I'll be driving there (and back).
Hey there.
I'll be travelling early on the 2nd as well to go sightseeing. I'm going alone, thus, won't bring any guest either. But I intend to return on the 3rd right after the ceremony at 12pm, so I'll be driving as well. Anyway, we can hang out on the 2nd if you like.

Anyone still waiting for a letter? Have sent an email but I doubt there will be any sent now and between the ceremony.

I am waiting for the invite letter. I was hoping to receive today but no luck. Looks like the hope for this ceremony is over. Not sure when is the next ceremony.

Hi All,

I applied for Citizenship in January 2019. Received acceptance in November 2019. When I returned the €950 & documents, I also included a letter to inform the Citizenship office that I have had a change of address. I also emailed on the 22nd of January to confirm this was received & address amended. No reply. I emailed again on the 3rd of February and then received the below confirmation email on the same day from two separate help desks Team 2 & Team 3 .

'Thank you for your email. I can confirm that your address on our system was
updated to --------, Dublin as per your request.

Regards
Citizenship Helpdesk
Team 2'

When I did not receive an invitation for the March ceremonies (which seemed odd as my acceptance was received and returned in November), on Saturday 22nd of February, I went to my old address and my invitation to the March 2nd ceremony was at the old address (dated 9th of February). If anyone else has a similar situation in which they changed their address during the application process, I would suggest to check their old address as my address was never updated & caused additional amounts of stress to the situation for a silly little reason. I hope that's helpful to someone. Looking forward to the 2nd! And for all those still waiting, stay strong. We know it's hard. <3

Finally got the invite late last week ... for 3rd March afternoon.
Applied back in April 2017 - spousal dependent visa.

Best of luck to all waiting.

Hiya
I received the acceptance letter 6 February. Sent the documents on the same day and they received it on 10 February.
The letter was signed 31 January though but only stamped in post office on 4 February and delivered to me on February 6.
Do you think it is submitted in the requested 10 days limit?
Did anyone return documents after 7 February and already received invitation to March ceremony?

Is anyone else worried they will postpone the ceremonies due to the Coronavirus? It's a lot of people in one place over 2 days from all nationalities. It only just occurred to me that we are a lot of people + guests.
Perhaps I am overthinking, happy to be reassured!!

A the end of this week they will notice about it.
It is better them to provide masks to all Candidates in Killarney (it is about 12000 items) rather than to cancel so huge Event for 2 days!!!!!
Hope, they will read my advice!!!!
P.S. Rugby match- Ireland-Italy is canceled already, which is on 7th of March.

No need to be cancelled as no report of even a single coronavirus inside Ireland..
they cancelled that match bcz of Italy's fans come to Ireland (im not sure if they play in Ireland or italy) if played in italy bcz of the saftey of irish fans and players to travel to italy!
so there is no reason for cancellation

Actually that is why I wrote about we will wait for next few days.
And if news would be that there are few people with coronavirus in Ireland, then I do not know what will happen next...
Still 5 days left!!!
God bless us!!!

The report is quite clear that the decision had been made because the event would involve a lot of people travelling from an affected area.

The risk for the ceremony is still there, buy not as severe as in the case of the match, which involved people travelling from Italy into Ireland.

I think it's already too much of a short notice. Even though there's one or another confirmed case until Monday, they'll be monitoring it closely and individually as it has to be.

People are panicking way too much about it even in the affected areas with outbreaks. The mortality rate of this virus is way lower than h1n1 which is still alive and kicking and nobody cares about it.

Not only me but most of the people will go to Killarney a day before, so there's hotel fees involved, travel costs which cannot be refunded and it'd be chaos too.

Unless there's an OUTBREAK until the ceremony day, I don't believe it'll be cancelled. Italy's population is around 60 million people. There's 320 confirmed cases.

It just doesn't make sense to me from a infectologist point of view to cancel the ceremony because of covid-19 unless there's an OUTBREAK in Ireland until the ceremony's day.
