Tier 2 Dependent extension after Primary applicant's ILR

Post by sfdcani » Mon Mar 09, 2020 12:53 pm

Hi Smart people ,

I have received my ILR last year . My wife is not eligible for ILR yet and she is on Tier 2 General dependent visa (my previous grant before ILR) . Now , this is the time for extension of her VISA , can you please advise under what category I need to extend her VISA ? As my employer has invalidated my COS from their system now .

1. Can I still raise her VISA extension under same category (Tier 2 General Dependent) by just giving my last COS reference ?
2. Do I need to raise the extension under "ILR Dependent" (family visa ? ) , if yes , then would that reset her clock for ILR which is supposed to be after 3 years from now ?

Many Thanks ,
Aniket

1. Yes and yes. Provided you got ilr through tier 2 and long residence.

2. No,it will reset her ilr clock to zero if she switches categories.

Many Thanks for your response .

I may be missing something , but online application does not allow me to raise separate application under the category "PBS Dependent"/"Tier 2 General Dependent" .

There are just these categories under the Long term work VISAs:

General work visa (Tier 2)
Intra-company Transfer visa (Tier 2)
Minister of Religion visa (Tier 2)
Sportsperson visa (Tier 2)

If I raise under "General work visa (Tier 2)" then it asks for my COS number and Sponsor details (that i suppose has been invalidated by my employer) . Is that what i need to apply my spouse's VISA extension ?

I would highly appreciate if you point me to the right category that I need to choose .

Tier 2 Dependent extension after Main applicant get ILR

Post by sfdcani » Mon Mar 30, 2020 10:35 am

Hi ,

I got below email from id "home.office.atlas@notifications.service.gov.uk" . On gov.uk web , the guidance says that email format is always as below

name.surname@homeoffice.gov.uk
These are the formats of official Foreign and Commonwealth Office email addresses:

name.surname@fco.gov.uk
xxxxxxxxx@fco.gov.uk

Not sure why there is shortage application fees , as I paid the required amount that was being asked for during application and also the IHS fees. Not sure , is this a legitimate email or scam .

Below is the email I received.

Dear XXXX ,

Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.

I am in the process of assessing your application but note you have paid the shortage application fee. I would be grateful if the application fee could be topped up by paying the required additional sum.

I am sorry for the delay in dealing with your application and for the inconvenience this is causing.

Yours sincerely

Ms XXXXXXXX

Any suggestion ?

Seems 483.20 is (464 + 19.20 )

If your cos was issued before October 2019, 2136 was NOT a shortage occupation job.

If your cos was non shortage, then you have not paid the correct fee.

No , there is no link to make the payment . It says below (names/personal data changed to XXX )

From email : Home Office Atlas <home.office.atlas@notifications.service.gov.uk>

Dear XXXX

Ref: XXXXX

Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.

I am in the process of assessing your application but note you have paid the shortage application fee. I would be grateful if the application fee could be topped up by paying the required additional sum.
