BC form filling online

Post by Ragingtiger0309 » Tue Mar 31, 2020 11:54 am

Hi
May I please seek some advice, I am filing my BC form online. A question about the referee? Do they have to fill their details online and attest my photo or do I have to give my paper copy for countersigning? Its confusing, please suggest.
Thanks

You complete their details. At the end of the application you print the referee forms and send it to them to physically sign the form after you have attached the photos to the form. They then send it back and you upload it with your supporting documents.

You can only apply for a passport once you are British, which is after you have attended your citizenship ceremony. There is no longer an option to apply for both at the same time.

Hi Experts,

Could you please answer a couple of questions. I am changing my job now, that needs a BRP, because my ILR is just an old stamp version on the passport. I had to book a paid appointment to get my biometrics done on 21st March at Croydon and filled the Super priority service for BRP which cost me £1048. On 2nd March, I emailed UKVI to WITHDRAW my BRP application so I can apply for BC and money can be used there. But a letter from UKVI arrived on 24th March explaining my refund is on the way, which surprised me because on the website it says no refund available, that's why I went to get my BRP done. Please see the screenshot from UKVI https://www.gov.uk/cancel-visa
You applied in the UK
You need to cancel your application using the online form.
You won’t get your fee refunded if you cancel an application that you made in the UK.

However, I have not received my refund yet. Now whilst filling my AN BC form online, I understand I have to book a BRP appointment. Now, do I have to get my BRP again? I don't have BRP yet. I received a text on 21st March evening that my information has been sent to UKVI. Please suggest what to do? I have emailed UKVI to suggest me, which may take more than 1 month at least.

My 2nd query is when I fill the AN form- its asking did you apply for a VISA in the UK or overseas? I did apply for a visa overseas first time and on A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS, I also extended visa at the airport by showing a letter from the University, whilst returning back to the UK, instead of submitting a new application at the High Commission. I got all the records on landing cards when I received my SAR. I also got my work permit and applied for FLR 4 times in 2002,03,04,07, please suggest do I need to fill all these info including FLR on the BC form. I think they do have all the info, it is repetitive, I think. Thanks

Total number of days out of country

Post by Ragingtiger0309 » Tue Mar 31, 2020 7:05 pm

Hi again, I was out of the UK for 111 days in the last 5 years. However I was out of the UK from 1st April 2017 to 16th April 2017, does it matter if I send my application tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side as I was out of country same time when I am applying of BC. Please share your thoughts. Thanks

Are you married to a British citizen if you are applying based on 3 years?

The requirement to be physically present at the star of the qualifying period is mandatory. You risk a refusal if you were not present 3/5 years prior to date of application.

Then you not being physically present in 2017 is irrelevant as you are NOT applying based on 3 years residence.

Your qualifying period is a date in 2015.

Hi all, I just applied for BC, It redirected me to UKVAS WEBSITE. But it's not sending the access code to book an appointment. I understand UKVCAS is shut now, but I would not be able to book an appointment because I wont have the link. Kindly suggest,

Forgot to mention about oenalon BC Application

Post by Ragingtiger0309 » Thu Apr 02, 2020 7:44 pm

Hi, thanks for the continued support. I sent my BC application yesterday but just realised that I forgot to add a couple of jobs which I had in 2011-12 with the same employer, lasting for 2 days each time. Company-paid all the taxes etc, but I don't seem to have payslip or P45/P60 now.

2nd point is I travelled without a train ticket a very short journey distance about 5miles, in 2009-10 because it was Sunday- ticket office was closed (its a very small station) and I can't remember vending machines were there that time. I paid penalty of £18 that time.

Option 1
If I write a letter disclosing these issues and upload it on UKVCAS website when I get my BRP appointment, would it be a good idea?
Option 2
Should I withdraw my application?
Please share your expert knowledge in this matter, which is the better option?

Thanks again

You are probably fine and dont need to worry about it. If you want to make 100% sure you can use the letter. I would not withdraw the application based on this.

BC Application

Post by Ragingtiger0309 » Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:48 am

Hi all, could you please share your expertise. I am a bit worried about a couple of things I mentioned in my BC application.
In 1998 and 2001- I extended my student visa at the airport by showing a letter from the university on returning back from USA. I added this under An immigration application made...... section.
I have a copy of my landing cards from HO when I requested for SAR. All history in there.

2nd point- once I withdrew my application at the British High commission in 2001 also. I mentioned this as well. It was all honest. Will it go against me cos I am giving too much information it may delay the process. Should I withdraw it and apply for a new application without these immigration record?
Thanks again

SAR and Checks

Post by Ragingtiger0309 » Tue May 12, 2020 6:14 pm

Hi I applied for BC on 1st April, if I request for my SAR report. Please suggest, will it show if any checks have been done already or not yet, given the current situation of coronavirus lockdown. I understand all caseworkers are working from home in dealing with enquires.

Please advise how to request for SAR and how long it may take, kindly suggest.
Many thanks!!!

No it won't show you the finer details of what checks or steps have taken place. You have received one before so you know what it contains.

Applications can take up to 6 months. You should be patient, you only applied recently.

Have you enrolled your biometrics yet? If not, nothing will progress with your application until biometrics are enrolled and documents you uploaded submitted to ukvi by the biometric centre.

As you have not enrolled biometrics, your application will likely be pending and on hold. UKVI start working on and processing applications after biometrics and document submission.

That's most useful advice, grateful to you as always. No point to have SAR when the application has not moved precisely.
