tier 2 General - ILR

Hi All,

I am going to apply for ILR in july. can someone please help on the below questions.

1. NARIK - I m trying to apply NARIK certificate . I got into Visa and Nationality service (Red) .
what should I select for immigration route?.

it has three options
1. Family
2. Settlement
3. indefinite leave to remain

2. Life in UK - I completed life in uk test on Mar -2016 . hope this is valid in 2020 and no expiry for this test.

can someone please confirm both?.

Life in the UK have no expiry date, so , YES it still valid.

I am eligible for ILR via tier 2 general route in Aug 2020, need some help in application process. i hope someone could help me.

little bit of information on my stay in UK.

1. I entered UK Nov 2007 and left UK on Feb 2008 on Tier 2 ICT.
2. I entered again on 5th June 2010 on Tier 2 ICT and continue to say here.
3. I switched from tier 2 ICT to tier 2 general on 3rd Sep 2015 (this is issue date in BRP card) inside UK.
4. I am planning to apply for ILR on Tier 2 General route Set(O) .

my questions are below.

1. how early i can apply for ILR?. i am planning to apply for ILR on 7th Aug 2020. i.e 28 days before 3rd Sep.is this calculation correct?.

there are some doubts in online application from.

2. Do you have a valid national identity card? - what id should provide ?. i am from India and holding Indian passport. shall i provide passport details itself?. there is separate section asking for valid passport details.so not sure what identify i have to provide for national identify card.

3. When did i first enter UK ?.. which is correct 2007 or 2010?.

4. Since you first entered the UK, have you had any absences from the UK? -> yes ..

all my absence are only vacations/holidays to India not more than 3 weeks each time.

5. What evidence will you provide to support the reasons for all absences from the UK and Crown Dependencies? - which document should i provide here?.do i need to get anything from HR?.

6. Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth? . i was born in india. should i say YES to this question ?. reason can i say - country of birth. start date -- my birth date and end date is May 2010. i entered UK june 2010. please confirm the details.

1) Correct. Use the date calculator to double check.
2) Not important. If you do not have one, state NO.
3) It is the date based on the Tier 2 G visa route. So you switched inside UK, it will be the date your initial BRP was issued i.e. 3/9/15.
4) This is also based on the 5 years qualifying period. No need to list any absences before 3/9/15.
5) Passport(s) & employer letter(s).
6) Yes. Birth till you stayed in India.

Few clarifications please.

regarding the point 2. this is what exactly it says

This includes identity cards, issued from non-UK governments. This does not include driving licences. If you have an internal passport, provide the details here.

it does ask to provide internal passport details , not sure what does it mean.

5. regarding point 5 , what should i ask in employer letter?. should i state all my leaves in last 5 year and ask employer to approve?.is there any format please?.

2) You are overthinking. This is not important. Ignore it if you do not have an NIC. For example, I am from Pakistan and we do have a National ID card number. Not sure how it works for India, but as previously said, its not important.

Do you have any Home Office reference numbers? -> what is this please?. is it my previous tier 2 extension reference number?.

Home Office Reference Number is the Case ID which is on the official documents/approval letters. Usually it starts with a 0. You can also use your BRP number as reference if Case ID is not known. You can list Tier 2 initial and Tier 2 extension Reference Number.

Below is my absence from UK. All are vacation to India.

1 10/12/2015 - 26/12/2015 16 days
2 15/04/2016 - 25/04/2016 10 days
3 19/11/2016 - 03/12/2016 14 days
4 26/05/2017 - 09/06/2017 14 days
5 14/02/2018 - 04/03/2018 18 days
6 21/08/2019 - 07/09/2019 17 days

I got letter from my employer regarding my paid annual leaves but employer provided all of my total annual leaves which includes annual leaves those i spent inside UK as well which comes around 25 days every year . am worried that if I submit this letter as evidence of my absence and this will lead to confusion and delay in my application decision.

My questions are

1. Should i really need to submit any evidence other than passport for holidays less than 1 month each time?.
2. Is yes , what should i submit as evidence for my absence other than passport?.
3. is my employer letter with such an exhaustive list of absence is acceptable?.

any help will be much appreciated.
