Also, cover the 2 years prior to the application date. You can leave out documents earlier than the required period.

Thanks Korekt and Seagul really appreciate your input.

I am struggling to find evenly distributed docs in my wife's name, hence I included all I have in her name.

I would really appreciate if you are able to suggest what docs to keep for my wife's from the list and I will try to find docs in my name with similar dates or do you suggest to just keep them all as is?

Sorry for asking many questions.

Her current leave expires on 19th Mar 2020

Wife (applicant)

27 Feb 18 bank statement

5 June 18 NHS letter

20 Nov 18 bank letter

The above is one possibility. You may try and match the months shown above for the applicant with documents in your name.

Appears to be more than what's required. It will suffice.

Thanks for your help. Yes application submitted on 21st Feb and biometric appointment is on this coming Saturday.

I appreciate all the help so far. I may have one more question tomorrow and hopefully that’s all ;)

I’ll post the timelines in the relevant post

Hi All,

Hopefully this will be my last question before Biometric appointment.

I answered below question as "no" on the application form but noticed the council tax bill is in our joint names (rest of the bills are in my name(sponsor). Apart from that all bills are in my name only.

Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and
supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?

Do I need to include a cover letter to say this question should have been "yes" and sign part2 of the consent form?

Or will the Declaration for spouses form that I have to sign cover the joint bill?

I appreciate if a moderator can give a definitive answer or someone with a similar experience with an approved application can advise.

Thanks again for all your patience and help provided from all amazing members of this great forum.

As far as I can tell, the Declaration for Spouses is only a confirmation that the relationship requirements are met and is not consent for the Home Office to verify information, which is what the Part 2 Consent Form is for (and also relates to any information in joint names).

I think you should definitely sign and include the Part 2 Consent Form, whether you address your answer to the question in a cover letter is up to you. It would seem to me that you didn't answer it incorrectly necessarily, but the Consent Form would be required to cover the joint council tax bill anyway.

Hi All,

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your help with my Wife's application. This has been successful and we really appreciate all your patience and input.

I know SET(M) is far off and rules may change by then, but for the sake of planning and making sure we collect/ keep evidences and correct documents. Are the requirements the same for the SET(M) application (ie financial, English and cohabitation) or is there something else or different that needs meeting then?

Thanks again and keep safe.

Rules are unlikely to change. All the same requirements have to be met again for SET(M) plus B1 English and LIUK.

Thanks for the information and your help. Does LIUK test have expiration date or can be done at any time?

Liuk does not have an expiry date. You can do it at anytime.

No expiry. You can even start preparing for it now

Return of expired BRP card

Post by Telco123 » Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:28 pm

Hi all,

We have received the BRP for the extension. There is no mention of returning the old expired BRP card on the letter that came with the new BRP card nor the decision letter from the home office. Is this no longer required?

Thank you,

Thank you,
Old BRP must have been cancelled and voided. Therefore ideally cut it in few pieces and return it which address must be on the envelope holding your new BRP.

OK thanks Seagul. Any chance someone can advise on the return address?

There is absolutely no guidance or mention of returning the expired card so wondering if it is really necessary at all to send off.

PO Box 195

If you wish then may keep it as souvenir but better to return it.
