Queries on Citizenship Application

Post by rahne » Sun May 03, 2020 11:28 am

Hi,

I am eligible for Citizenship in June. So, I am currently filling an application for Citizenship.
I have got few queries on References, Can someone please advice me on below?

1. Can I put my previous company managing director as reference as I worked with him for more than 5 years (Please note that he was my manager in the previous company but now I moved to different company and he has british citizenship already) ?
2. Can I put my friend as reference as I known him for more than 4 years (Please note that he recently got the citizenship and also he is a director of the limited company) ?
3. Do referees need to sign document and provide the photograph (It didnt mention in the application form but have seen in other websites)?

Thanks in Advance

1. Yes. There is no requirement that you must work for or with the person.

2. Yes.

3. Yes, they have to each sign the referee declaration that you download and print at the end of the form. They don't provide their photos. It is your photo that goes on the form.

Hi CR001,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply and thanks for providing more clarity on Referece Declaration,

I read something like below highlighted, Do I need to write Referee's Full Name and Date Of Birth on the back of my photograph or do I need to write my details?

"Passport photo
On the back of the applicant’s photograph, please write their full name and date of birth. The photograph should then be glued into the space aside."

It is YOUR name and details, NOT the referees, that goes on the back of your photo.

These instructions are addressed to the referee. So the instructions are asking the referee to write the applicant's (your) full name and date of birth before gluing it to the referee form.

Hi CR001/Simon,

Thanks a lot for providing clear explanation for my previous query.
Now, I have got another query..

In the application, there is a section to provide immigration history - Actually, I came here as a student, I really forgot below
1. PSW (Post Study Work)
a. Forgot When I applied
b. Forgot When I have given bio

2. Tier2 General
a. Forgot When I have given bio

Is that be OK If I leave those fields as Empty ?

Usually that information can easily be retrieved from SAR report but that report takes ages to arrive. But the fastest way might be by checking your old bank statements of those debit/credit cards which were used to pay the application & post office biometrics fee. In past UKVI used to deduct the fee instantly.

Hi Seagul,

Very much appreciated for excellent thought process, but unfortunately my current bank only supports last 7 years bank statements, as I applied my PSW Visa back 2011 I can't see these statements

You could just try and give the approximate month/year.

Hi All,

Can someone please provide me answer for below?
For the question - "When did you first arrive in the UK?" What date that I need to enter based on below scenario?

1. I entered UK on a Student Visa on 10/02/2010 and got PSW visa later.
2. After PSW Visa I had applied for Tier 2 General Visa on 16/09/2013
3. I went back to my Home Country on 28/09/2013
4. I came back to UK on 02/06/2014. (After stayed 248 days away from UK due to personal reasons and I didn't work from Home either though my visa still valid)

So, which date do I need to enter for this question? 10/02/2010 or 02/06/2014 ..?
Note: for my ILR Visa, I have given "02/06/2014" and that was approved last year

Also, another question is "Trips outside the UK"
1. The trips that I made in the last 5 years are enough ?
or
2. Do I need to provide details based on above question (i.e. "When did you first arrive in the UK?") ? means all trips?

Thanks in advance.

Probably best to use the 2014 date.

Only for the five years preceding your application NOT 2.
