Are there still interviews required for a first adult passport?

Post by Lopand » Tue Jun 02, 2020 2:10 pm

I noticed on the timeline thread that interviews are not mentioned, but the Twitter account of the passport office does mention them being postponed due to Covid-19. Any idea if they're still requiring them for a first adult passport after naturalisation?

Thanks in advance.

Rare that people who have naturalised are asked to attend an interview.

They asked my 17 years old to do interview when he applied for his 1st passport this January (he obtained citizenship by registration last December, applying with me).

It happens and they always reserve the right to do it but it's a rare occurrence really.
