Switch from Tier 2 ICT Dependent to Tier 4

Post by sim202021 » Wed Jun 03, 2020 12:10 pm

I am on a Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa which is expiring in July 2021. I have applied for a PG course which is starting September 2020 from a UK university which is sponsoring Tier 4 visas.

I understand current concession of switching visa in UK has been extended to 31 July.

Please advise if I can also take benefit of this concession to switch from Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa to Tier 4 visa in UK?

I am expecting response to my PG application by 25 June.

No. As you say, it is only for those with leave expiring on or before 31 July 2020.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

Hi,

I have seen an update about visa switch for temporary residents https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus ... ts#history

Does that mean Tier 2 Visa Dependents can switch to Tier 4 within UK Itself even the visa expiry date is after July 31st ? Please confirm.

Thanks Sah10406 for the reply.

I have got the reply from the university and fortunately their visa team advised me that I could apply for switch in UK itself before 31 July. The advise from University was received before the below update on 26/6.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus ... ts#history

"You can also apply from the UK if your leave expires after 31 July 2020 but you urgently need to make a new application, for example to start a new job or course of study, and cannot leave the UK to make an application from overseas."

Believe this update makes it clear now? Please advise.

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. Just another doubt, applying before July 31st means , should the application be made before 31st July ( even without Biometrics). Reason why i am asking is, The application depends on other factors as well.

1. University to provide CAS
2. VAC's are not taking any new appointments anymore.

Also, can the dependents apply along with us in this route ?

Can you please continue your questions in your own topic you already have and stop tagging onto other members topics!!! It is considered rude and unfair to other members to keep doing this.
