EU Settlement Scheme Dependant Parents - proving relationship

Post by justanotherchilli » Wed Jul 01, 2020 9:38 am

Hi all,
I'm a non-eu spouse of an EU (Irish) citizen. I want to bring my Dependant parents over to UK on the settlement scheme (I already have pre-settled status).

I'm gathering all the documents together to prove my parents' relationship to me and my husband. I've just had a look at the English translation of my birth certificate and it only has my mother's maiden name (even though my parents were married). I'd really appreciate comments/advice/shared experiences regarding the following

1) Are there any other applicants out there from countries where the numpty governments only required mother's maiden name on your birth cert who could share their experience in gaining an eu settlement family permit or pre-settled/settled status for their parents?

2) Will this cause problems as my mother's passport has her married name NOT her maiden name

3) what additional documents do you suggest I include if 2) above is likely?

4) For any translated documents do you also need to provide the non-translated versions?

Thanks in advance!

Yes always. The translation itself has no value if you don't join the original also.

Note: if they fail to get the Settlement Scheme, they won't be ever eligible to a visitor visa

Cheers for your help :) , we've weighed up the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that it's still worth going for the opportunity.

just to let u know my mum surname was different on my birth certificate from her passport and it didn't create any issues,
payslip s(eu national) and rental agreements could be useful as well but i didnt use any just provide them what they have asked, do not complicate things
