Tier 2 dependent visa application when main application visa is in processing

Posting for friend of mine.

He got his ILR recently and he needs to apply visa extension for his wife.

Does she need NARIC ?

What route to ilr did your friend go, work visa or 10 years long residence?

She currently holds Tier 2 General dependant visa, and he was on tier 2 general and went through the 5 yrs route for ILR.

There is NO English requirement for a tier 2 dependent visa extension.

90 days maintenance of £630 is mandatory though and 2 years evidence of cohabitation in both names.


It will be a 3 year tier 2 dependent extension.

I found a new job who was ready to sponsor me and submitted my application on June 1st and I am waiting for the next process of appointment from UKVCAS.

My spouse is on Tier 2 ICT during the whole process and now we are planning to get my spouse onto my dependent visa and he is in the UK.
I have the below questions :

1) Can we apply now as my application is in progress ?

2) If yes for questions 1, while filling the application form it's asking for BRP details. Should we give the old BRP details that was issued in February or select the option "No, I do not have a Home Office reference number for them" ?


Any other information on this would be helpful.

Usually dependent visa applications are filled together OR based on Main applicant Visa details.

Since your (Main applicant) Visa hasn't been approved, you don't have main applicant Visa details and your dependent can not reference the main applicant details.

I would wait for the main application approval before applying for dependent visa. Regards,
