What does mean - invest in Active and trading UK companies?

Hello. According to Tier1 (Investor) of the Guidance
May I buy shares(equities) of the UK companies from the broker?
For example, FTSE 100 https://www.londonstockexchange.com/
AnnexA-Glossary of Terms and Further Information Active and trading UK companies

In order to count for the award of points, investments made as loan or share capital must be made in companies that are active and trading.

Yes, Individual stocks, FTSE100 and 250 would qualify. REITs won’t.
